"You trespass the domain of the Once-Exile, Chosen of the Giver. I am Archon Prime, sovereign of this orbit! Speaker of the voice invisible."
— Levazsk speaking through one of his vessels[1]

Archon Levaszk, Prophet of the Giver is the acting Archon of the Fallen House of Exile on Kepler who rose to power after the Aionians failed to cure the Eliksni of the Dark matter poisoning their Ether supply. He began claiming to have received visions from III, a member of the Nine who the Exiles refer to as the Giver, and believes that by expanding the Kepler singularity with III's remains and entering through it, he and his House would achieve ascension. Using the symbiotic dark matter-infused Slime mold within his body and those of his subjects, Levazsk is able to project his consciousness to control and speak through the bodies of his subordinates.

Biography[edit]

Levaszk was once among the Exiles that took up residence on Luna. He was a friendly and charismatic Eliksni, once trimming the last bits of muscle and shell from a recently-docked Eliksni named Azeryks after convincing them to abandon the House of Winter on Venus, intent on showing him that they could live without an Archon or Kell to dictate their lives. Sometime after the emergence of the House of Dusk,[2] Levaszk would guide a band of Exiles aboard a Ketch to find a new home away from the fighting in Sol, eventually settling on Kepler in the Oort Cloud. Upon arrival, Levaszk claimed that they were meant to be on Kepler, claiming the green of their armor and banners prophesied it. He would also help to ingratiate him and the House to the residing Aionians thanks to Levaszk's charisma.[3]

Over time, the Exile's Ether would begin to get contaminated with dark matter from the slime mold native to Kepler. Through taking it, Levaszk claimed to receive visions and hear the voice of the singularity at the center of Kepler which he called the Giver.[4] Calling the dark matter contaminated Ether "Gift-Ether" in reference to his belief of Kepler being a gift, Levaszk began telling the other Exiles to breathe it to let them do more than simply survive; they could follow a meaningful path. He also claimed that they needed an Archon to make the Gift-Ether and chose himself for the task, which the Exiles agreed to despite the prior refusal to follow Kells or Archons.[5] Levaszk would become increasingly fanatical the more of the Gift-Ether he breathed, as well as increasingly hostile to the Aionians, preaching to the Exiles that they would take all of Kepler's gifts for themselves and they should take Kepler for themselves.[6] Due to the large amount of Gift-Ether he consumed, Levaszk would gain the ability to see and speak through any other Eliksni that had breathed it in. With it, he would look for any dissenters in his followers, either attempting to convince them to return to him or kill them.[7][8]

When the Guardian, Ikora Rey and the Drifter arrived on Kepler following an invitation sent by the Nine, Levaszk would speak to them through his Vessels, preaching to his followers to destroy them and fulfil their mission; to strengthen the singularity and ascend.[1] Levaszk would later speak to the Guardian during their operation to sabotage a power plant in the Exile's Accord, telling them that he had seen glimpses of his actions but not their motives, and telling his followers that he had prophesied the arrival of the Guardians as their final test before their ascension. During the mission, Lodi would attempt to reason with Levaszk, telling him that they would kneel to the Giver if he opened the way to it. Initially confused, Levaszk would denounce his words as tricks, believing they were working with the Vex to keep them from the Giver.[9] During their mission to destroy a dark matter refinery, Levaszk would refute Lodi's statement that the dark matter of Kepler had made them sick and refused his plea to find a solution with the Aionians, claiming they wanted to keep the Giver for themselves.[4] Finally, as the Guardian assaulted the the Exile's Prime Servitor to keep their Ketch from becoming airborne,[10] Lodi would call the Archon out, calling him a false prophet and questioning him on how he could be favored by the Giver as he claimed if the Guardian destroyed their Prime Servitor and took the Strangelet it was guarding. Despite Levaszk's repeatedly rebutting his claims, he would accidentally reveal his plan to use the powered-up Ketch to travel to the Singularity. After the Giver's Bounty had been destroyed, Levaszk would refuse to accept defeat, claiming that he was still victorious as the destruction of the Prime Servitor was one path to his Grand Design.[11]

As the Guardian made their way back to the Caldera, they would receive a call from Levaszk, who spoke to them of what the lives of the Exiles was like before and after they came to Kepler and discovered the Giver. He told them that the Exiles had no hatred for the Guardian, only wanting the gifts of the Giver, but warned that they would be met with blades if they continued stealing from his House.[12]

Eventually, after the Guardian had successfully collected enough Strangelet capsules to open the way to the Singularity,[13] Levaszk would lead a large force of Exiles to the Singularity to ascend through it. The Guardian would find Levaszk by the dead body of III in a capsule. After disabling the power to the pod from his Ketch, Levaszk would emerge to face the Guardian in combat. However, as the fight went on, Levaszk decried that the Guardian should not be the one to be victorious, as he had seen it. But Levaszk would eventually fall, where he would question how the Guardian could take his destiny from him and told them to burn in the singularity.[14]

Personality and traits[edit]

Levaszk is a religious zealot, worshiping the Giver fiercely and using every event that transpires and every word spoken to affirm his and his House's zeal. How much of his fanatical ramblings are truly visions shown to him by the Giver, or just him improvising to keep an illusion of power, is unknown. Levaszk is also merciless and uncompromising. Despite the many times Lodi and Ikora Rey attempt to end the conflict between the House of Exile and the Aionians, Levaszk would reject his attempts and call them tricks.[4][15]

Once cornered in the eye of the singularity, Levaszk would attempt to stay strong-minded, but would begin to question his prophecies and how they could be false, deciding to say that the the Guardian was to blame for the prophecies failing. During his final moments, he'd realize his failure and feel shame, cursing the Nine's weapon.[14]

Gameplay[edit]

After Levazsk exits out of his capsule, he will immediately run over to the center of the arena, and will stay there for the remainder of the fight. Levazsk is armed with a Tangle Launcher, which fires a single Strand shot similar to a Shackle Grenade that will suspend the Guardian if they are hit by it. Levazsk is also able to turn any Fallen enemies near him into Arc conductors. If the Guardian gets too close to an arc empowered fallen enemy, they will take constant Arc damage until the enemy is killed or the Guardian is out of the enemies sight.

Once a quarter of his health is down, Levazsk will summon two Prophet Servitors to shield him. These Servitors hover above Levazsk and are immune to all damage, needing the Guardian to enter their Matterspark form and charge up their burst attack. Once fully charged, they must launch themselves at the Servitors using nearby ramps and burst at just the right moment to break the Servitors' shields. Once both Servitors have been destroyed, Levazsk's shield will be down and the Guardian will be able to damage him again. This process is repeated a second time once another quarter of Levaszk's health is gone.

Quotes[edit]

  • "Wonderous victory awaits our pious House!"
  • "Cry in praise for the second Whirlwind!"
  • "The Giver is useless to you dead!"
  • "The universe conspires against us, my Exiles!"

Trivia[edit]

  • Levaszk is voiced by Brad Davidorf.[citation needed]
  • Levaszk is the first Fallen Boss that features a few English voicelines that do not appear in subtitles during his final fight, with most of them consisting of him cursing or berating the Guardian. He still uses parts of the normal Fallen Boss voicelines in his native language.
  • According to varying reports, Levaszk may have originated from either the House of Judgment or House of Winter.[16]
  • According to Keelsk, Levaszk maintained servitors during the Long Drift, eventually serving as a well-regarded Mechanist repairing Giver's Bounty, Exile Prime Servitor.[16]
    • Keelsk also claims that Levaszk is allergic to pine nuts.[16]
  • Despite his death in The Message, Levaszk can still be heard in The Sieve. As such, it is unknown whether or not he survived.
