The Director is an interplanetary map interface available to Guardians in Destiny and Destiny 2. It offers information on raids, missions, strikes, and campaign quests. As players advance throughout the campaign, more planets are unlocked. The interface is additionally available as a smartphone app that allows players to research missions outside of the game and set up co-operative missions.[1]
The Director was de-emphasised and relegated to serving pre-Year of Prophecy content during the releases of The Edge of Fate and Renegades, with featured content being accessible through the Portal instead. The Portal was later merged into an updated Director, that was reinstated as the central hub for all Destiny 2 content, with the release of Monument of Triumph.
