Transcript[edit]
(Mission begins)
The Stacks, Kepler
- Lodi: Guardian, we're looking for a member of the House of Exile. My, uh, hunch led me to some Eliksni tracks. My guess is the technology that was taken is on its way to the Archon as we speak.
- The Guardian passes through a dark matter portal in a subway train, which takes them to another area of the Stacks where they find Felciks.
- Lodi: That's our thief. We'll need to move fast.
- The Guardian gives chase to Felciks, who teleports away.
- Ikora: Can you give us any more information on what we're looking for?
- Lodi: Carnahan called the technology "Mattermorph". Does exactly what it says on the package. It can take any matter and break down its molecules in an alarmingly short amount of time.
- Ikora: We've seen how easily Mattermorph can kill. It's too unstable for someone like the Archon to wield.
- The Guardian opens a door and gives chase to Felciks.
- Ikora: Exercise caution; she's carrying delicate cargo. I'm not sure how resilient this technology will be to a stray Nova Bomb.
- Lodi: If this tech works as well as it sounds like it does, it'll be a big problem in the wrong hands.
- Using Matterspark to charge the pylon to drop Arc charges, the Guardian uses them to drop Felciks's shield. After damaging her enough, Felciks drops several Aionian artifacts.
- Ghost: Ikora, the thief just dropped… a bunch of Aionian artifacts. Lodi said the lab had been ransacked. They must have taken more than just Mattermorph. But why drop the stolen goods?
- The Archon: The Archon: Hospitality, Deathless. Those who trust the Giver… receive gifts.
- Ghost: The Archon! Ikora, our thief's being controlled!
- Ikora: And he's claiming hospitality? After trying to make all of our problems worse?
- Eventually, Felciks flees after sustaining enough damage.
- Ikora: Archon Levaszk… Return the stolen technology, and no one else needs to get hurt.
- The Archon: Exiles, you hear the Deathless make false promises. Nothing appeases their greed as they vie for the Giver's blessing. Extinction-fated Deathless, you have the sympathies of the House of Exile.
- The Guardian once again manages to corner Felciks and make them drop more artifacts before she flees again.
- Ghost: These dropped artifacts aren't gifts; the Archon's trying to lighten the load to make a quicker escape.
- Ikora: He seems as fortunate as he is reckless. Lifting Mattermorph was just a deadly coincidence.
- Lodi: Robbed a house and found a nuke. All it takes is one wrong judgement call, and the Exiles could level Kepler.
- The Guardian uses Matterspark to pass through through a cave passage to continue pursuing Felciks.
- Ikora: You know as well as we do that Kepler isn't stable. How can we help your people?
- The Archon: There is no need, Levaszk is prophecy-blessed. Lo, my Exiles! I see without eyes. The Giver's Feast. The rim of Sol, bent. Exiles triumph. The Deathless dead, and dead, and dead again.
- Ikora: You think III is going to send you home? The "Grand Design" you speak of means Kepler falls into the singularity, and the rest of Sol with it.
- The Archon: Feed the Giver, let the wormhole swallow all, and tear through to the Eternal Unknown!
- The Guardian once again corners Felciks.
- The Archon: Felciks's will is at her Archon's command!
- Ghost: She drop all that junk at your command too?
- The Archon: Every failure is proof of the greater victory. [laughs] The Grand Design is grand indeed.
- Lodi: This guy's not playing with a full deck. There-there is no plan.
- The Guardian once again manages to make Felciks drop more artifacts by damaging before she flees again.
- Ikora: Archon, it doesn't have to be this way. On Earth, Eliksni and Humans live in peace. They have homes, plentiful food sources… fellowship.
- The Archon: Earth-Eliksni practice sacrilege of the highest order. They have no place in the Grand Design.
- The Guardian pursues Felciks to the lab she stole the artifacts from, finding her behind grates. Before them is Mattermorph and a Quantum Imprint for it, which the Guardian grabs.
- Ghost: Ikora, Lodi, we've got Mattermorph. Interesting. It's reacting to that pylon. Guardian, let's investigate.
- Using a bulb of slime mold attached to a nearby Vex pillar to charge Mattermorph, the Guardian uses it to build a way into where Felciks was hiding and ultimatly kills her.
- Ikora: Archon Levaszk. A member of your House is dead by your misjudgement. Open up the way to the singularity. No one else has to die.
- The Archon: What is sapient life, if not bodies? Felciks was necessary. Defeat is victory in the eyes beyond time.
- Ikora: He's shut off his channel. A leader so obsessed with the hold he has on the world, he's willing to sacrifice his entire House for a paltry slice of power.
- Lodi: There's no "Grand Design". Nobody's driving the car — this guy's just riding shotgun, trying to convince us he's behind the wheel.
