Slime mold is a species of fungus-like organism found on Kepler which feeds on Dark matter.

Overview

Colonies of slime mold can be found throughout Kepler, appearing as a yellowish network of tendrils with bulbous green growths. The mold can also be seen encrusting the armor of the local House of Exile Eliksni, especially their Archon Levaszk, who uses the mold to telepathically communicate with and control his subordinates.

Bulbs of slime mold can be harvested from Vex pylons on Kepler to power the Mattermorph ability.

Trivia

• In real life, slime molds are a group of loosely-related eukaryotic fungus-like organisms; members of the class Myxogastria are known for forming macroscopic assemblages termed plasmodia that can crawl across surfaces and exhibit various other animal-like behaviors.
• The Alkane Mutations found in the Curtilage Divide and Augur's Bethel on Kepler are a mutated strain of Titanian Alkane Spores that have formed a symbiosis with Kepler's slime molds.
