Much like Brakion, Agioktis will utilize a powerful Line Rifle and its Void Projectiles as a primary means of defense. It will also retreat behind a Barrier Shield like Brakion once a fourth of it's health is lost, still capable of firing through at any aggressor. However, it will also utilize Supplicant "Mines", where a red, glitchy field will release an extremely volatile Supplicant when disturbed. It will also use Detainment bubbles to entrap any aggressor, holding them in place and stalling their progress. Once behind it's Barrier, Agioktis will summon a Shackled Minotaur; the Minotaur must be killed in order to retrieve the charge they drop so that it can be deposited into a Vex Conflux holding the Martyr Mind's barrier.

Agioktis, Martyr Mind is a massive Vex Hobgoblin unit encountered at Infinity's Siphon during the Corridors of Time Part 2 mission.

Biography

Built in desperation to counter a rampant Saint-14, the Mind would relentlessly hunt down the notorious Titan, who successfully destroyed the Mind, but not before it drained his Light, leaving him helpless for the Vex to finish him. However, with the power of the Sundial, The Guardian was capable of going back into Mercury's Simulant Future to save him. After a skirmish with the Mind and its Descendant back-up, the Mind would detain the Guardian instead; however, this released Saint-14 as a result, allowing him to crush the Vex mind using his Sentinel Shield.

Gameplay

Much like Brakion, Agioktis utilized a powerful Line Rifle and a barrage Void Bolts as a primary means of offense. It would also retreat behind a Vex wall like Brakion once a fourth of its health was lost, still capable of firing through at any aggressor. It also utilized Supplicant "Mines", where a red, glitchy field was placed in the area, and released an extremely volatile Supplicant when disturbed. Finally, it was also capable of Detaining any aggressor, holding them in a bubble and stalling their progress. Once behind its wall, Agioktis would summon a Shackled Minotaur; the Minotaur had to be killed in order to retrieve the charge they dropped, so that it could be deposited into a Vex Conflux holding the Martyr Mind's barrier.

Trivia

  • Agioktis was the fourth Axis Mind the Guardians encountered that possessed the form of a Hobgoblin. Xegonion, Warped Mind, Brakion, Genesis Mind and Replicant Mind, Proxy being the first, second, and third, respectively.
    • However, it was the second to be giant sized, after Brakion.
  • Martyr means: to be executed, or disdained, because of having a different belief. Agioktis's title fits its purpose, as its creation was to kill Saint-14, whose Light and relentless strength were something the Vex did not understand.
