Primeval Captains are a Taken Primevals that take the form of a Taken Captain. They are summoned by Guardians participating in the Drifter's games of Gambit.^[1] The Hallowed variation appeared in games of Gambit Prime.^[2]

Gameplay[edit]

The Primeval Captain fights much like normal Ultra Taken Captains. Players should be wary of its Shrapnel Launcher, which can kill them in a few bursts at short range. The Primeval Captain teleports very often, and fires Darkness Bolts even twice in a row. Getting too close to the Primeval will prompt it to smash the ground in an Ultra Smash attack. The Primeval Captain and its Primeval Envoys are accompanied by hordes of Taken Vandals.
