The '''Suros Regime''' is a type of [[auto rifle]]. It features "exotic" art.<ref name = "TG">[http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/apr/28/destiny-hands-on-bungie-xbox-playstationshared-world-shooter '''The Guardian''': ''how the makers of Halo plan to change the future of shooters'']</ref> When fully upgraded, the bottom half of each magazine deals bonus damage & has a chance to return health when dealing damage.<ref>[http://destinydb.info/inventory/item/119482465 '''DestinyDB''' : ''Suros Regime'']</ref>  the Suros Regime is widely considered to be one of the better auto rifles in the game, and was so popular at launch that the developers had to lower its impact("nerfed" the Damage and Impact because it was considered over-powered or OP). Even after the downgrade, it's still a capable weapon in the Crucible and in the lower level Strikes (Level 22 and under), largely due to the fact that it has low recoil, ample magazine space (33 rounds)and high impact rounds upon upgrade. Once the player competes in higher level matches like the Vault of Glass and the Weekly Heroic or Nightfall Strikes, the downgrade becomes more apparent and can affect kill score negatively in relation to other players' in the match.

The SUROS Regime is an exotic Auto Rifle introduced in Destiny Year One.[1] A Year Two version of the SUROS Regime was available in The Taken King[2], as well as being introduced again in Destiny 2 via Warmind.

Grimoire[edit]

Nostalgia as a weapon of war. Style as a hallmark of victory.

Suros engineers designed the Regime using recovered Golden Age schematics. Forced out of production by a crippling shortage of smartmatter, the few remaining models are cherished by those Guardians fortunate enough to wield them.

Lore (Destiny 2)[edit]

Nostalgia as a weapon of war. Style as a hallmark of victory.

Few weapons have withstood the test of time longer than the trusty SUROS Regime. This is Golden Age tech brought to life by the fastidious engineers at SUROS. Its smart-matter frame is prized among Guardians for both efficiency and rarity. Some things never fall out of fashion.

Gameplay[edit]

Destiny Year One[edit]

When fully upgraded, the perk SUROS Regime allows the bottom half of each magazine to deal bonus damage and has a chance to return health when dealing damage. In addition, the perk Focused Fire increases the weapon's damage at the cost of reducing its fire rate.[3] It is a capable weapon in the Crucible and in lower level Strikes. It has low recoil, a magazine of 33 rounds, and does high damage per impact.

Destiny Year Two[edit]

The Year Two version of the SUROS Regime retains the SUROS Regime and Focused Fire perks, but adds a new perk called Spinning Up that increases its fire rate the longer it is fired. Spinning Up and Focused Fire are interchangeable. The SUROS Regime's aesthetics have also been changed.

Destiny 1 Upgrades[edit]

Barrel upgrades[edit]

  • Field Choke: More range and impact. Increased recoil.
  • Linear Compensator: More predictable recoil. Slight boosts to range and impact. More recoil.
  • Smart Drift Control: Predictable and controllable recoil. Penalty to range.

  • Spinning Up: The longer this weapon is fired, the faster it fires.
  • Focused Fire: When zoomed, this weapon fires slower, but causes additional damage.

Stat modifiers[edit]

  • Hammer Forged: Improved range and accuracy.
  • Lightweight: When held, this weapon grants +2 character Agility.

Destiny 2[edit]

SUROS Regime returns in Destiny 2 as a 600 RPM at base auto rifle, with Focused Fire renamed Dual Speed Receiver. When hipfired, the RPM goes from 720 to 900 at maximum, increasing in stages with every 12 bullets that are shot in sustained fire. Aiming down sights activates Dual Speed Receiver, reducing how fast the gun can fire, but increases its damage per shot. The SUROS Legacy perk is unchanged.
