Season of the Witch is the 22nd Season of Destiny 2 and the third seasonal content of the Lightfall Annual Pass. The season started on August 22nd, 2023 and ended on November 28th, 2023.
Pursuing a means to reach the Witness, Ikora Rey and Eris Morn struck a bargain with the rogue Ghost Immaru: resurrecting Savathûn, the Witch Queen for her aid in exchange for the Vanguard dealing with her sister. Taking up the challenge against the war god herself, Eris ascends as the latest Hive God in their pantheon with the Guardians tithed in tribute to her as both must master Savathûn’s arcana and embrace the might of the Sword Logic themselves.

Story: A Ritual Begins
- "To pursue the Witness, Eris Morn must turn to the magic of the Hive and accept a deal that Savathûn crafted before her death. To honor our end of the bargain, Guardians must become masters of the arcane and harness the power required to defeat a god."
