Biography[edit]

At some point, Aisha participated in a mission to Old Chicago, pursuing an unknown entity. Alongside Reed-7 and Shayura, Aisha was one of the few survivors of the mission. While being debriefed on the mission Aisha noted that the creature lured them into the tombs below the city and that they had not truly been hunting it.[1]

Following the Arrival of the Black Fleet, she and Shayura would argue many times over Sloane's choice to remain on Titan. Aisha tried to tell her that Sloane couldn't have convinced to leave Titan if she tried, but Shayura wouldn't listen.[2] During a Trials of Osiris match with Reed-7 and Shayura, Aisha and Reed would find Shayura brutally killing one of their opponents, Leitka, after mistaking them for a Hive Knight she had encountered on Titan. As Shayura continued brutalising the Guardian after they were resurrected, Aisha would rush and cling to her as she and Reed called out for her to stop.[3][4] Afterwards, she and Reed would comfort her, with Aisha apologising for fighting with her and encouraging Shayura to talk with Ikora Rey about her mental state.[5]

When the Traveler began reforming, Aisha and Shayura were watching together. As she watched the Traveler reform, Aisha talked about how she, Shayura and Reed had blamed the Traveler for bringing them back when they were being stalked by the creature in Old Chicago. Looking up at the Traveler, she felt a sense of dissatisfaction with it that neither of them could understand the other. As the gather crowd of the City's populous cheered after the Traveler reformed, Aisha was briefly panicked when Shayura disappeared, only to find her retreating into the crowd and was afraid that she understands that Shayura felt hollow disaffection.[6] At some point after the War of Salvation, Aisha would learn how to wield Stasis, though she did not reveal it to Reed or Shayura. During a Trials of Osiris match, she and Reed once again had to find Shayura after she went missing, only to find her standing over her opponent. Attempting to kill the Guardian and destroy their Ghost for wielding Stasis, Aisha would use her own to stop Shayura. She could not understand what Shayura was thinking and hoped that she and Reed would understand and forgive her in time.[7][8]

During the Endless Night, Aisha would save an Eliksni of the House of Light, Vriiksis, who was being harassed by a group of City civilians whipped into a fury by Lakshmi-2's propaganda. However, Vriiksis would refuse Aisha's help to get him to medical treatment, believing her to have been corrupted like Eramis, leaving Aisha with a weight in her heart.[9]

Around the same time, Shayura would escape from Vanguard captivity and continue her quest to hunt down "traitors to the Light".[10] However, following an encounter with a Lightbearer Knight of the Lucent Brood, she would surrender herself to the City. Reed and Aisha would be there when she did, with Aisha embracing Shayura and telling her they would get her the help she needed.[11] Following this, Aisha and Reed-7 would be dispatched to patrol the Moon when the Leviathan was drawing Nightmares from the Lunar Pyramid. During this, Reed attempted to reason with Ashia about Shayura's prison sentence, telling her that the Vanguard wouldn't hold a military tribunal in the middle of a war. Aisha, however, hated the idea of Shayura being in a cell for the entirety of the War against the Witness or until they're all dead. Reed told her it wasn't the end of the world and that they had to reach the bottom to climb back to the top, only for Aisha to point to the Leviathan and say that it looked like hell before questioning why they were doing the work of "New Lights". Reed told her that the Vanguard couldn't afford to give them leave after the Lucent Hive had killed many young Guardians in their assault in the Cosmodrome and they thus needed to do what they could.[12] After clearing Fallen from K1 Communion, Aisha would attempt to comfort Reed-7 as he became fixated on a Vandal he had just killed, seemingly thinking about what Shayura had done to a House Light refugee on Venus. However, her attempts would lead to an argument between the two until Dunya stopped it.[13] The two soon saw what Dynya was trying to tell them; a Nightmare of Shayura had appeared and began taunting them for arguing over which of them was worse than her. As the Nightmare approached them, it asked how long it would be before they got a new Warlock for their fireteam and acted like she never existed. Aisha was shaken by the Nightmare's words, until Reed placed a hand on Aisha's shoulder to reassure her. She remembered what Eris Morn had instructed them on what to do when facing Nightmares conjured from their memory and whispered a sorry to the Nightmare.[14] Following this, the two would go to visit Shayura in her detention centre.[15]

During the Invasion of Earth, Aisha, Reed-7 and the recently released Shayura would fly alongside Amanda Holliday to protect the Traveler from the Witness and the Shadow Legion above Earth. During the conflict, Reed-7 would be killed by the Witness.[16] His death would weigh heavily on Shayura and Aisha, who would inform Sloane of his death when Titan returned.[17]
