From Destinypedia, the Destiny wiki
- "You will dream of me… I will never leave you…"
- — Weapon Description
Conditional Finality is an Exotic Shotgun introduced in Lightfall via the Root of Nightmares Raid. It is a random drop after defeating Nezarec, Final God of Pain and the drop rate can be increased by completing Raid triumphs.
Perks[edit]
- Intrinsic Perk: Split Decision - Dual barrels split into Stasis and Solar damage.
- Shortened Barrel: Greatly improves handling at the cost of range and stability.
- Alloy Magazine: Faster reloads when the magazine is empty.
- Exotic Trait: Paracausal Pellets - Landing nearly all Stasis pellets will freeze targets; landing nearly all Solar pellets will ignite targets.
- Textured Grip: The friction on this weapon's grip is particularly strong.
- Greatly increases handling speed.
- Slightly decreases stability.
Catalyst[edit]
The catalyst has a random chance of being obtained from final boss completions of Root Of Nightmares. A master completion of the raid will guarantee the drop. Upgrading it will grant the following traits:
Heal Clip: Reloading shortly after dealing a final blow grants
Cure to you and your nearby allies.
Rimestealer: Destroying a
Stasis crystal or defeating a frozen target with this weapon grants you
Frost Armour.
Lore[edit]
"YOU WILL DREAM OF ME… I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU…"
The sound that escaped me resembled a roar.
A psychic echo.
It soared through the air and pierced every corner of my ship.
Anger coursed through me as I toppled the ground in a heap.
I wheezed with each breath and clutched at my chest.
I watched that witch saunter out…
Like she'd won.
My ship rumbled as she wrested her primordial prize from it.
I felt hatred—
Deep, unchallenged hatred.
My claws punctured the floor, etched new patterns into it.
I dragged myself forward.
Whispers danced around me, trillions of voices melded together in my favorite symphony.
I had always welcomed death, and this time would be no different.
An agonizing sensation shot through me.
It was as if an arrow had bored its way through my chest.
It burned, and I collapsed among the rubble.
A green hue enveloped me.
I was unfamiliar with this—her magic festering within me. Shackling me.
My body twisted.
My breaths grew thin.
My limbs became heavy.
Torturous.
No… she could not hold me. I would not allow it.
This would not be my end.
"My Witness," I whispered as the void I once commanded claimed me.
Trivia[edit]
- Unlike other Raid exotics such as Vex Mythoclast, Collective Obligation or Touch of Malice, Conditional Finality does not drop as a simple Exotic Engram would from the final chest at the end of the Raid, instead popping up like a piece of Legendary Gear would at the end of a activity.
- Conditional Finality is the first Raid exotic to be able to have its drop rate increased by completing certain triumphs related to the raid. However, it is unknown just how much the rate is increased by.
- Popularized as the competitive shotgun meta-choice by RivenAverah and Gjerda, who went head to head, each sporting the Conditional Finality, in the GCX 2024 summer tournament.[citation needed]
- This weapon can deal with both Barrier Champions and Unstoppable Champions. This is because both the freeze and ignitions it causes can stun Unstoppable Champions and Barrier Champions still get frozen if their shield is "just coming up" as the freezing shot applies.
- This gun's solar bullets fire in a circle while the stasis bullets fire in a triangle. This is likely a reference to the Traveler and the Black Fleet.
