Lord of Wolves is an exotic shotgun in Destiny.

Aquisition

Year One

The Lord of Wolves is one of three possible rewards for The Elder Cipher exotic bounty. The bounty is only available as a random reward for the level 34 or 35 Prison of Elders challenge modes.

Year Two

The Year Two LoW can only be obtained through Challenge of Elders, wherein at the end of a round you have a small chance to obtain either the LoW, Dreg's Promise and the Queenbreaker's Bow.

Gameplay

Year One

The Lord of Wolves is an exotic shotgun in the House of Wolves expansion pack. It rapidly fires 5 shots upon pulling the trigger. It has 30 rounds in it's magazine, which can be upgraded, very high impact, very low range, low stability and solar damage. It's skill tree allows its range to be slightly upgraded. A lot of its perks seem to be weighed towards recoil control, which isn't very useful, given that this weapon has very low engagement ranges.

Its perks include:

Smart Drift Control: easier to control recoil, less range.

Soft Ballistics: Less recoil, less range.

Linear Compensator: More predictable yet plentiful recoil, slightly more range and impact.

Hipfire: This weapon gains more accuracy when firing from the hip (not aimed down sights)

Speed Reload: Quicker reload.

Extended mag: More bullets in the magazine (30-36)

Year Two

Trivia

It is based on a Fallen Shrapnel Launcher, commonly wielded by Captains, however it does not fire small rockets like the shrapnel launcher does. In an older version of the gun, its unique perk, Devil's Touch, lit enemies on fire to simulate this.
