Bounty
From Destinypedia, the Destiny wiki
- "We all have wants. Just not the means to see 'em all through. You can try a Guardian, but make sure you have something to offer 'em."
- — Amanda Holliday[1]
Bounties are a feature in Destiny. They are based on the completion of certain tasks. Bounties are very worthwhile to purchase, as they can be completed with normal gameplay and yield experience bonuses upon completion. Most Bounties are obtained from Xander 99-40 in the Tower, Berg 99-40 in the Reef, and Micha 99-40 in the Iron Temple, with specific Bounty types available from their respective Faction.
During the Alpha and Year 1, Vanguard and Crucible Reputation could be gained by completing certain Bounties unless the player is wearing a Class Item belonging to a Faction, in which case it goes to that Faction. Occasionally, Xander 99-40 will have a Bounty Lead for players. The Postmaster would alert the player, and then the player picks it up from Xander. This typically happened after the player has unlocked a new area or Strike. During Year 2, and later Year 3, Reputation gains from Bounties are applied to whichever Story Faction.
During Year 1, Bounties that had been completed are returned to Xander for a reward, and players could acquire up to five Bounties of any type.[2] In Year 2, and later Year 3, this cap was increased to sixteen.[3] Bounties could also be turned in anywhere, but players must return to reaquire new Bounties.
Vanguard Bounties, depending on the requirements, can be completed in Patrol, Story Missions, or Strikes. Reef Bounties can be completed anywhere, as can Crota's Bane and Tyra Karn's Bounties. Crucible Bounties can be completed in the Crucible, including in the Iron Banner tournament, whereas Iron Banner Bounties can only be completed in the Iron Banner tournament, as are Trials of Osiris. Sparrow Racing League and Crimson Days Bounties could only be completed in their respective events.[2]
A player must be Level 4 before embarking on Bounties.[4]
Bounties returned to Destiny 2 toward the end of its first year.

Destiny 2[edit]
See List of Destiny 2 Bounties
Bounties can be acquired from Tower vendors, such as Commander Zavala, Lord Shaxx, or Banshee-44, or they can be acquired from Planetary vendors, Such as Devrim Kay in the EDZ, or Ana Bray in Mars. Additional bounty sources include the Visage of Calus, Seasonal Vendors (e.g. Rasputin for Season of the Worthy), and others. Bounties usually come in 3 types: Weekly, daily, and repeatable. Weekly bounties take longer to complete and have greater rewards, such as 200 Bright Dust. They refresh each week. Daily bounties refresh every day and are easier to complete. Repeatable bounties can be acquired multiples times each day and drop a small amount of Bright Dust. Some weekly bounties, such as ones acquired from the Drifter, have Legendary Gear as a reward. All bounties reward XP. Bounties are seen as one of the faster ways to level up the season pass, and for most people, the only way to reach max rank. Bungie states that it will change XP mechanic in the Future so that bounties are not the only reliable source of XP.[5]
