One Thousand Voices is an exotic Fusion Rifle introduced in the Forsaken expansion for Destiny 2. Firing this weapon lays a trail of fire, which can detonate and damage nearby enemies.[1] The explosions can also damage and kill the wielder if they stand too close. The One Thousand Voices can be obtained as a rare drop from the final chests in the Last Wish raid.

Perks[edit]

Intrinsic[edit]

Ahamkara's Eye: Charging this weapon unleashes a giant continuous beam of death.

Barrel[edit]

Extended Barrel: Weighty barrel extension. • Increases range • Decreases handling speed • Moderately controls recoil

Battery[edit]

Liquid Coils: Slower-building charge for higher damage. • Increases impact damage • Slower charge time

Trait[edit]

Unforeseen Repercussions: This weapon's beam superheats its targets upon impact, causing delayed explosions.

Stock[edit]

Fitted Stock: This stock makes the weapon stable but heavy • Increases stability • Moderately controls recoil • Slightly decreases handling speed

Lore[edit]

[Language] is a [virus] that infects the minds of [humans].

A single [word] will drive them to [rage] or [lust] or [weeping].

O for the right [word] said in the right [voice]!

O to see their [hearts] well with [longing]!

O to see their [desire] laid bare in their [chest], so juicy and succulent for the taking!

Trivia[edit]

  • The Lore tab and acquisition of One Thousand Voices suggest that it is made from the bones of an Ahamkara. However, the appearance of the weapon (particularly its firing aperture) bears a strong resemblance to the "eyes" and mouth of the Worm God Xol. This resemblance is one of many pieces of evidence that the Worms and Ahamkara are related or connected in some way.
  • From its launch until Update 2.0.4 (October 16, 2018), the weapon suffered a peculiarly fitting audio bug that made the charging sound get stuck in an ear-piercing feedback loop, which was activated by jumping and firing it immediately after. This bug may have inspired the name of its Weapon Ornament, One Terrible Scream.
