The Shadow Legion (also known as the Dark Cabal) are a Cabal Legion that act as enforcers to the newly risen Disciple of the Witness, Emperor Calus and possess Pyramid tech to suppress the Guardian's powers.[1]
History
Structure
Fundamentally, the Shadow Legion bears little differences to either Calus's Loyalists or even the Red Legion, but only augmented by Pyramid technology. Further, like the Loyalists, the Shadow Legion's rank-and-file soldiers are mainly fully grown cloned Cabal and have no independent thought or higher-brain functions beyond following the will of Calus and The Witness. The higher ranking members of the Shadow Legion appear to be have joined Calus out of their own free will, however. Prisoners of the Shadow Legion noted that when not being given orders, the main soldiers just stand guard silently and breath deeply, almost wheezing, which unnerved the prisoners more than anything.
One notable distinction within the Shadow Legion is that it employs the Tormentors, direct soldiers of The Witness, acting as either personal agents of Calus or as specialized field commanders to combat the Guardians thanks to their abilities to drain a Guardian of their powers.
