The Sand Eaters are a legion of the Cabal. It is the largest and most commonly encountered Legion on Mars before the Red Legion, fighting on the front lines against the Vex. They have weaker tactics and morale than the other legions, but they still press on with fierce determination.[1] They can be identified by their white, green and orange armor. The Dust Giants, another Cabal Legion are known to be a subdivision of the Sand Eaters. During the Taken War, the Sand Eaters took massive casualties fighting the Taken, losing about 58% of all their troops stationed across Mars and Phobos.[2]

Arrival in Sol[edit]
The Sand Eaters arrived in Sol sometime after the Collapse. They would set up bases at the Exclusion Zone, Scablands, and The Barrens on Mars.
Search for the Black Garden[edit]
The Guardian would arrive at the Exclusion Zone on Mars, to search for an entrance to the Black Garden. Despite their numbers advantage, they would be unable to defeat the lone Lightbearer, who would kill Bracus Tho'ourg. Later the Sand Eaters would attempt to take control of the Buried City from the Virgo Prohibition.
