Excavators are Fallen Vandals and Associates of the Spider, tasked with protecting Drills in the Expedition activity until the Guardians arrive.^[1]

Gameplay[edit]

An Excavator will spawn at the Drill sites throughout the area in which the Expedition mission takes place, in order to fend off any nearby enemies. After you and your teammates have cleared the area and begun the drilling process, the Excavator will despawn.
