Crystalline Quatrains are heavy-duty Stasis projectile weapons employed by the Fallen.
Gameplay[edit]
The Crystalline Quatrain is a compact launcher found in the hands of Captains. Its primary means of attack consists of a rosette of three to four projectiles with relatively low range but wide spread. Each of these projectiles applies slow stacks to the target, gradually bringing them to a freezing state, although the high damage may kill the target quicker than it freezes. In addition, the top quadrant of the Crystalline Quatrain projects a large fan of Stasis crystals that Captains use to protect their heads from enemy fire. These crystals can be destroyed, though they take reduced damage from non-Stasis sources, and will regenerate after about a minute. In the House of Exile, Captains that use this weapons won't have an Absorption Shield, while Captains of the Pikers will keep theirs.
Trivia[edit]
- A quatrain is a poem or stanza consisting of four lines.
- While the significance of the name "quatrain" in this context is unclear, the number four has previously appeared in relation to the Darkness, as it is sometimes represented by or associated with tetrahedrons, which have four sides.
- Crystalline Quatrain is also the name of the shot fired by Omen Subjugators.
