Xyor, the Unwed is a Hive Wizard encountered in The Summoning Pits Strike with the Exotic Weapon Bounty, "A Light in the Dark", is active.

She is infamous for having a prominent role in the creation of the Weapons of Sorrow and cursing the Titan Rezyl Azzir into the infamous Dredgen Yor.

Biography

First mention of Xyor comes from the story of Dredgen Yor. The Titan Rezyl Azzir met as he descended into the Hellmouth chasing the legends of the Hive, and followed her into the dark, leaving his Ghost behind. He failed to kill her, and Xyor prophesised that he would one day lose his Light and become corrupted, suffering for his transgressions upon the Hive's holy ground. Rezyl would be trapped in the darkness for two days, facing a continuous onslaught of the Hive, and eventually a Knight who was Xyor's own betrothed.

Upon his return from the Moon, Rezyl grafted the Knight's bones onto his hand cannon Rose as a trophy. That decision later proved to have disastrious consequences, because the bones - supposedly cursed by Xyor - eventually begun whispering to him, transforming his gun into the Light-devouring weapon Thorn and himself into Dredgen Yor.

Xyor was similar to many Ascendant Hive, being very confident in her powers and what she can and has accomplished. Her ability to see prophecies also made her extremely arrogant to the power the Light has as she had full confidence in her Dark powers. However, this confidence proved to be her undoing in the Summoning Pits Strike, where she was overwhelmed and slain by the Guardian along with her Abomination. Upon her death, the Guardian would recover Unbound Thorn.

Gameplay

Xyor appears in the Summoning Pits Strike while it is a Nightfall in the final boss room with Phogoth, the Untamed and appears after four waves of Ascendant Knights are killed. Xyor spawns with a small coven of other Wizards and Thrall. She fights like a normal Wizard and despite her Major rank, she has similar health to her normal Wizard counterparts.

Trivia

• The Grimoire card "Legends and Mysteries: Rezyl Azzir" gives her the additional titles of "the Blessed" and "the Betrothed".
• Her title "The Unwed" comes from her betrothed, a Hive Knight, having been slain by Rezzyl Azir in an attempt on Xyor's life.
