— Grimoire Description[1]

Web Mines are used by the Fallen to deny areas to Guardians and other enemies.

Gameplay[edit]

Web Mines are most often found planted into the ground, in a disc shape. They emit a low but distinguishable noise, which can allow an attentive player to detect them. Once a player moves close enough, the mine will release a spherical explosive, which will hover in the air beeping for a moment before detonating. The mine's payload creates a large spherical field that blinds, slows and deafens anyone caught in its radius. Even Sparrows are affected, getting stuck in place. The slowing field last for a considerable time, leaving players inside vulnerable and often spelling doom for them. If the mine is shot before it explodes, it is destroyed harmlessly. Both the planted device and the floating detonator can be broken this way.

Web Mines are most often used by the Fallen and Scorn, who plant them in key areas, although they are often obstacles in the Prison of Elders and Sparrow Racing League. Some bosses have the ability to throw Web Mines like they were Grenades, and a common Modifier in high level activities causes Vandals to drop one on death.
