The Imperium Rifle is the main battle rifle of the Barant Imperium, utilized by its Legionary, Psion and Centurion troops.

Overview[edit]

The Imperium Rifle functions much like a Slug Rifle, albeit the technology powering it is significantly more advanced. The Imperium Rifle eschews the solid, ballistics-limited rounds of its Cabal counterpart in favor of being a direct-energy weapon, allowing users to fire further in a straight line. The characteristic firing sound further separates it from its counterpart. The rifle comes in two sizes, for Psion and for Barant soldiers.

Trivia[edit]

This weapon's firing sound and function is based on the E-11 medium blaster rifle from Star Wars.
In earlier promotional images, the Imperium Rifle was much more similar to the Slug Rifle, essentially being a Slug Rifle with the Imperium Rifle's barrel on top. Potential reference to the much earlier design of pre-release Destiny 1 Slug Rifles with the longer barrels and bayonets.
