The Long Range Burst is a sniper rifle used by the Barant Imperium, utilized by its Legionary and Psion troops, as well as its specialist Imperium Praetorians.

Overview

The Long Range Burst functions much like a Cabal Headhunter, albeit the technology powering it is significantly more advanced. The Long Range Burst eschews the solid, ballistics-limited rounds of its Cabal counterpart in favor of being a direct-energy weapon, unleashing a precise green laser upon its targets. The rifle comes in two sizes, for Psion and for Barant soldiers. Praetorians hold the rifle one handed, and will overload it and throw it as an impromptu explosive when changing armor.

Trivia

• Long Range Burst marks the 2nd usage of Solar Energy in a different color such as green instead of the usual orange, 1st being the Solar weapons of Devil Splicers in red.
  • However it can be a developer oversight as the green color would mean Strand instead of Solar.
• The green color of the laser sight and blasts could lead to a reference towards original Star Wars: Battlefront 1 and 2 games, as Scout Troopers' E-11s Sniper Rifle fire in a green color.
