Splicers are members of Fallen Houses who are charged with augmenting members of their House with cybernetics. All Fallen Houses possess Splicers, as the Fallen worship technology, but one year after the events of the Taken War, the House of Devils discovered the ultimate in nanotechnology: SIVA, a "techno-plague" using nanomachines to self-replicate and self-repair. Realizing this could make them closer to the "machine-gods" that they had always worshiped, the Devil Splicers immediately began infecting their fellow Devils with SIVA.[1]
