Imperial Opti are a distinct type of Cabal Psions who serve under Empress Caiatl in the Imperial Cabal. They assist the Guardians in the war against Savathûn's Lucent Brood by transporting them to the Mindscape, in order to do battle with Hive Lightbearers and detain them for psychic analysis.

Overview

Imperial Opti share their appearance with that of Ixel, the Far-Reaching; they are tall Psions that wear adorned bulky, dark-grey armor with gold markings and Caiatl's sigil emblazoned on their chest piece, and black capes with a large, gold symbol on it, with blue areas near the end. They arm themselves with a rifle-sized variant of the Cabal Slug Launcher, which has been seen to be utilized by other, powerful Psions in the past.

Gameplay

Imperial Opti are encountered in pairs of two towards the end of the PsiOps Battlegrounds activites, transmatting in once the Hive Lightbearer lieutenant sustains significant damage. The Opti use their psychic powers to trap them, then send the Guardians into that Hive's Mindscape. Once they're in, they will sustain the realm and help bring out Synaptic Spears in order to destroy Aspects of Savathûn and further damage the Lightbearer lieutenants. Once the Aspects are destroyed and the Lightbearers defeated, the Opti will bring the Guardians out of the mindscape, and the incapacitated Hive will be transported to the H.E.L.M.
