Combat information

The Scorpius is a ballistic war turret that is employed by the Cabal Empire.[1]

Overview

Scorpius units are ballistic turrets that are deployed onto battlefields by Cabal forces. They were first encountered with the Red Legion, but have since then been employed by all subsequently encountered Cabal groups. They are fragile and immoble, but make up for this weakness with an astonishing amount of firepower, possessing the highest firing rates of any enemy unit in Destiny 2.

Gameplay

In-game, Scorpius units are rather weak but compensate for this fragility with an overwhelming rate of fire. When a target approaches, the Scorpius will immediately sound an alarm, and instantaneously target their enemy. The hail of Solar bullets is akin to a Heavy Slug Thrower, and can likewise destroy a Guardian's shields in seconds. When encountering a Scorpius, Guardians should take cover immediately and prioritise their destruction. The turret's entire head is a precision damage area, and as such should become the Guardian's main target if a Scorpius detects them.

Trivia

  • They are possibly inspired or named after the Roman Scorpio siege engine; usage of "Scorpius" tends to refer to the constellation.
