The Wall is an ancient defense barrier that stood for centuries the along the southern border of Old Russia, separating the Cosmodrome from the Plaguelands. It was built during the Golden Age to secure the Cosmodrome. When the Devil Splicers breached the Wall at the onset of the SIVA Crisis, the last Iron Lord, Saladin Forge, personally led the counter-attack to reclaim the site before the Fallen unleashed SIVA, recruiting Guardians to rise as the next generation of Iron Lords. The wall was devastated during the invasion of The Last City at the beginning of The Red War.
