Biography

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

"He wasn't going by "Immaru" back when he was tormenting young Ghosts!"
The Ghost

Immaru is among the oldest of the Ghosts, often bullying other Ghosts according to the Ghost. He was chosen by the Traveler to resurrect Savathûn upon her death after the events of Season of the Lost. From there Immaru and Savathûn tricked Guardianless Ghosts into joining them under the lie that The Last City was no longer the Traveler's chosen and the Hive were instead. Once the Lucent Brood was established Immaru began serving as its head tactician.

Upon Savathûn's death at the end of The Witch Queen's campaign, he quickly fled before the Guardian could destroy him. Immaru continues to guide the Lucent Brood from an unknown location.

Personality and Traits

"All right, my little antisocial arthropods. This is First Ghost Immaru talking. Get your act together, Hive, while those Scorn regroup."
— Immaru in a broadcast to the Lucent Brood
This section needs expansion. You can help Destinypedia by expanding it.

Unlike his elegant and calculated Lightbearer, Immaru is very blunt in his delivery and often sprinkles his broadcasts on the Lucent Brood comms with creative insults. Based on his dialog, Immaru is very unpleasant, often having a smug tone in his voice and Ghost contemptuously referring to him as a bully. He doesn't even appear to have any remorse for turning against humanity and the Last City by siding with the Witch Queen nor does he care about Hive Lightbearers killing Guardians. Yet at the same time, however, even after her death and escaping the Guardian's wrath, Immaru continued to lead the Lucent Brood in her stead, showcasing a measure of loyalty towards his Lightbearer.

Trivia

  • Immaru is a Sumerian word for "light".
  • According to Ghost, Immaru used to bully young Ghosts back in the day.
  • He began going by his current name only after joining the Hive.
