The Solar System (also called the Sol system or simply Sol) is the planetary system inhabited by humanity. During the Golden Age, humanity forged an empire that spanned much of the system, but the catastrophic effects of the Collapse forced humans to retreat to Earth, abandoning their many worlds to various other forces.
The planets and the Sun of the Solar System are each associated with one of the dark-matter based intelligences that collectively make up the Nine.
The system is currently inhabited by both the Traveler and the Darkness, the latter of which is in the midst of sieging the system.

Moon | Earth's only natural satellite. Once the site of a small colony for supplying the rest of the system, now the location of the Hive's stronghold, with a minor Fallen presence.[4] Occupied by the Darkness. | |

Mars | the first human city outside of Earth, Freehold, was founded here. Now occupied by the Cabal, who are fighting invading Vex forces for control. Phobos | One of Mars's two moons. Phobos was controlled by the Cabal until the Taken invaded and destroyed the Cabal outpost.[6] | |

Deimos | A small natural satellites of Mars. It can be seen in the sky above Meridian Bay opposite Phobos. | |

Ceres | The largest object in the Asteroid Belt. Ceres was a major hub of the House of Wolves before it was destroyed by Queen Mara Sov's Harbingers.[8] | |

The Reef | an inhabited collection of asteroids and derelicts that are the home of the Reefborn Awoken. Asteroids with Awoken settlements include 4 Vesta, 2 Pallas, 10 Hygiea, 65 Cybele, and 5560 Amytis.[9] | |

Jupiter | A gas giant. Its moons are believed to have been a major cornerstone of Golden Age civilization.[10] | |
