Parhelion Wing[edit]

"Bask in the radiance under my wings."

Unsetting Sun[edit]

In a frost-bound land persist legends of an endless daylight. An expedition braved the endless sunlight for seven natural days until finally, they discovered this relic atop the highest mountain. The moment a courageous Warlock pulled this sword from the earth, the daylight finally receded, giving way to the blackest night.

Tan-2[edit]

"An inexperienced Lightbearer who is of two minds about everything."

Name: Tan-2

Race: Exo

Revival Location: Asia

Ghost: Tethra

Relic: Parhelion Wing (Sword)

Tan-2 was resurrected three years ago in Asia by his Ghost Tethra, and came to Haven half a year ago.

Like any young Lightbearer, Tan-2 has a certain passion for exploring the world. He's a bit impulsive, but he always does what he believes to be the right thing. He also has some secrets of his own, so he often acts alone and avoids forming close relationships with others, and he gets defensive over certain questions.

Sometimes he acts like another person entirely, with his way of speaking, demeanor, and even combat style changing. He tries hard to cover up this "quirk" of his. No secret can stay hidden forever, though.

Yannick-11[edit]

"An inexperienced Lightbearer who is of two minds about everything."

Name: Yannick-11

Race: Exo

Revival Location: Europe

Ghost: Elain

Relic: Parhelion Wing (Sword Form)

Yannick-11 was the fourth lord of Jiangshi Metro, and he used the most efficient way to prove his capability-by slaying the former Lord in public.

As a cruel Warlord, Yannick-11 ruled his people with an iron fist, but that same brutality would be the catalyst for his dethroning. His trusted right hand, Lady Xuân Yến, couldn't turn a blind eye to the suppression anymore and united several Lightbearers under his rule in a coup. They managed to kill Yannick-11's Ghost, Elain, forcing the tyrant to flee with grave wounds.

Unwilling to accept his impending final death, he used a Golden Age laboratory to transfer his consciousness into his Relic. There, he would wait for an unknowing Exo Lightbearer to raise his sword again.

Tethra[edit]

A reticent Ghost who rarely objects. Most of the time, he just listens, observes, and works.

About Dinner…[edit]

October 1

I'm sick of sharing a body with him!

That annoying old geezer argues with me about what to have for dinner every day!

Just you wait. I'm gonna buy all the foods you hate the most and make you eat 'em till you puke every day!

October 2

Actually, the curry isn't half bad. I can't understand why the old man hates it so much.

And I like potatoes—potatoes are the greatest food in the world.

October 5

Haha, he's finally shut himself up at mealtime.

You're a genius, Tan!

October 7

To be honest, I'm getting a little tired of it…

And I kinda feel like curry tastes bad now… Was curry ever this unpalatable before?

October 9

Sigh, why isn't it finished yet?

October 10

I don't want to eat anymore. It's curry flavor every day.

October 11

I really don't want to eat… I hate eating.

October 13

I hate curry! I'm so sick of it! I can't stand it anymore!

Just eat whatever you want for dinner, old geezer! I don't care anymore!

Not a Fan of Radegast[edit]

What's Radegast's deal lately? Does he have some sort of beef with me?

Wolf always says I'm overthinking it, but that's because everyone knows Wolf is Radegast's most favored lieutenant! That lucky one's opinion on Radegast is the real "biased" one! This is like Radegast saying Wolf is the most heroic Lightbearer he's ever seen! What on earth does he mean by saying that—hasn't he ever seen me before?

Okay, back to Radegast—whether he dislikes me or not, he definitely has it in for me.

Every time I report to him, he has me wait outside while he talks to that weird floating creature. Total snoozefest, you know? All I can do is stand there counting the flowers on the statue by the door. I think I'm just about out of flowers, though. How do they just keep babbling on and on?

And the last time I kind of mispronounced Karveer, and he blatantly laughed at me! The worst part is, after that, ever time I mentioned Karveer, he laughed again—it's just outrageous!

The accurate pronunciation of that Fallen's name is Kevarrh: keh-vaar.

You're telling me this now?! So you've been watching me make a fool of myself?! For three months! Three entire months! Not a single soul told me the truth?!

Is it really that funny? Stop laughing! No matter how you look at it, it's the Fallen and their weird names' fault!!

Another thing, old fart: stop peeking at my diary!!! This stuff's private, got it? Private!

About Pets…[edit]

Grayson

I think I messed up. Turns out Grayson isn't actually gray. Today he was rolling around in the pond and his fur started losing its color. Weird, right? So I took him to the Armory and borrowed a basin and soap. Half a day of scrubbing later, and guess what? That dog's always been white! What am I supposed to call him now?!

But isn't Grayson silly? I started calling him Snowy, he just wouldn't catch on. Oh well, he'll continue to be a white dog named Grayson then.

Patchwork

Ferocious. Loves to sunbathe on the observation deck. Not too fond of socializing. Scratches my face every time I try to pet her—thankfully I'm an Exo.

Why didn't she scratch Saoirse's face?

Why not scratch the Speaker?

Does this cat look down on Exo or what?!

Blackie

A bit skittish, always hiding in the flower beds. Very susceptible to food though. He lingers around the noodle shop all year round.

Every time I see him, he's being fed by someone. I can't imagine how chubby he'll get if this keeps on.

Spots

She has been looking listless lately, probably sick. I should take her to see a doctor.

Fuzzy

The greatest, smartest, and cutest dog in the world. Also the most awesome retriever, and the most courageous hound.

I wanted to take Fuzzy home with me, but Yannick strongly objected. How can someone NOT love Fuzzy? It's infuriating. There's a reason why nobody likes that grumpy old man!

Headstone[edit]

[The handwriting in this diary entry is starkly different from the previous ones]

I found Zhengming's tomb. He's the last one.

Zhengming, Xuân Yèn, Zigou, all those who once betrayed me, are now buried in this desolate wilderness of eternal winter. All of them.

I once swore to kill those traitors with my own two hands. Now that they're all six feet under, it seems the only thing left for me to do is to dig up their graves and scatter their ashes to the winter winds—much simpler than murder. The kid always sleeps soundly near dawn, and torturing the dead doesn't take long.

Zhengming was my earliest lieutenant. Weak and hesitant, he always grew and climbed slower than Xuân Yèn. Even in their rebellion, he was just a minor character following behind Xuân Yèn. So many years have passed, I can barely remember Zhengming's face. Imagine my surprise when I saw that rat's epitaph: "Evil has been conquered. Rest in peace."

Ironic, isn't it, that I still walk the very earth your rotting corpse is buried beneath?

But what's the point in obsessing over the dead? They've long since gone from here, leaving behind nothing but a pile of rotten bones.

Jiangshi was once my property, then it became my enemy's territory. But now, it's just rubble and debris.

No one remembers that Lord Yannick once ruled here, and in a few decades, no one will remember Xuân Yèn, Zhengming, or Zigou either. Time is the ultimate victor, and Jiangshi was never my home.

Elain[edit]

[The handwriting in this diary entry is starkly different from the previous ones]

Today, the brat found a dead Ghost in Jiangshi.

When he picked it up, I thought it was Elain, but it turned out to be nothing more than a disappointment.

I miss Elain sometimes.

He was mostly silent, but that wasn't a drawback; I never liked chatterbox, and after all, a Ghost doesn't need to be talkative. What's most important is their loyalty, followed by reliability.

Elain had both, and that's enough.

The little brat's Ghost is also a quiet one, and occasionally, I feel he's somewhat like Elain. Though he's much more arrogant than Elain, with nothing but "yes" and "okay," interspersed with cold sneers and "no."

How can there be a Ghost that says "no" to their Lightbearer? Disgraceful.

Looking back, since Elain resurrected me, I've never heard the word "no" from him, and he rarely put forward his own opinions. Maybe he always agrees with my views and decisions, or perhaps he's just very good at following orders.

We had been together for decades, but now, when I reminisce about him, it's hard to imagine what his reaction would be if he were still alive and saw the predicament I'm in now.

Perhaps I never truly understood my Ghost, and I'll never have the chance to know him better.

Observation Notes[edit]

[An observation record about the people of Haven. Each entry has notes written in two different handwritings.]

Radegast: Iron Lord. Dangerous. Keen observer. Exercise strict vigilance around him. Do not make contact unless necessary.

Very strong, and very busy. Honestly, it's harder to meet him in person than to step on his toes. Sidenote: he plays favorites.

Skorri: Iron Lord. Dangerous. Madwoman. Avoid contact unless necessary.

I wish I could be that cool—should I also learn to play an instrument? It seems Skorri can play every instrument. I've seen Gwynn playing the cello by the bonfire too… Wait, am I the only Lightbearer in Haven who doesn't play an instrument? How humiliating!

Kevarrh: Fallen traitor. An outcast. Not a threat, but not an ally either.

A total liar. She claimed Kabr completed two hundred Strikes? More than me? She's got to be kidding—has he nothing better to do? Why would anyone love slaving away for Radegast so much?!

The Speaker: A little brat. A political puppet. Won't make a difference. Pay her no mind.

I really don't get why they would choose a kid to be the Speaker. I mean, she looks just like any of those other kids who like to play house in the garden, except she's trapped in an endless game of playing house.

Wu Ming: A mortal? I don't buy it. A cunning man. A suspicious middleman. He seems to have caught on to us already—be on guard around him.

Swindler! A jerk of a swindler! I should've known! He's the owner of the place, for Traveler's sake! He has a pitch-black heart! Two months' bounty Silver, gone!

On this matter, you can only blame your terrible card-playing skills.

He must've been cheating! Cheating!!!

Next time, I'll catch him red-handed.

New Alliance[edit]

I really don't understand why everyone is so eager to become an Iron Lord.

If you ask me, all the seats of the Iron Lords have been occupied and their hierarchy is quite congested! Radegast, Saladin, and other old-timers are firmly seated as the top officers in command. Any new addition merely refreshes the list of the least important in the organization. We never get a say in all the decisions, big or small—what's the point, really?

Those with a clear mind would inevitably reach the same conclusion: forget about the Iron Lords, let's build ourselves a fresh alliance!

As the prosper of this idea and the founder of this new organization, it's only natural that I should be the leader, the top dog, the most vital founding member.

As for the old geezer... Well, he can join as a secret member, serving as the mysterious advisor to the alliance. An invisible, secret member... Heh, it sounds incredibly cool.

Then...I'll get Wolf and Zev on board. They poke fun at me sometimes, but...they're actually pretty reliable. Wolf can be my right hand. With such a duo, our alliance is destined for greatness!

Right, there's also Kabr... No, forget it, dealing with that big lug is just too exhausting.

Lastly, I shall personally name this grand organization:

Swords of Justice.

Wolf's Relic and mine are both swords. Perfect, just perfect, absolutely brilliant. Tan, you're truly a genius at naming.

I'll post a recruitment ad on the bounty board first thing tomorrow morning.

Renaming Parhelion Wing[edit]

Solar Wing: Hmm… not cool enough. Out of ten Solar Lightbearers, nine would name their Relic something with "Sol" or "Sun." Pass.

Blazeforge Blade: Seraph Blade? Flameforge Blade. Alright, nice backups.

Hero's Testament: No, it sounds like a name Kabr would give to his shield. Pass.

Crimson Legacy: Well, it fits the Relic's story well, but could it be a bit too showy? What if Radegast finds it sus? Backup of backups.

Light of the Arisen: Hmm, I kind of like it. Tan, the Arisen. Hmm, I like this name.

I'll skin you alive if you rename the Parhelion Wing.

I've told you a million times: stop peeking at my diary!!!

Lord Tan-2[edit]

Today, I found a half-collapsed tunnel in the greenhouse.

Amu-Atu warned that there could be a subsequent collapse at any time. But I'm going to be resurrected anyway, so, what the heck, I just wanted to go in and take a look.

Let's skip the experience of crawling through the hole—it was real dirty. What's worse, Amu said I looked like I was crawling through a rabbit hole. Hmph, I'm definitely NOT helping him defrost the water pump next time—he'll do it himself!

In any case, this adventure was still worth it: I found a tiny library on the other side of the tunnel. It looks like it hasn't been visited in a long time, but the books inside are quite well-preserved—to tell the truth, it's my first time seeing such old paper-printed books.

But I don't like reading, so while these things are rare and all, I'm not really going to flip through those boring botany magazines and weather records. The really interesting thing in the library is, guess what, Yannick's oversized chair.

In my opinion, the chair Radegast has in the Throne Room is already massive enough, but Yannick's chair is in no way inferior. Perhaps it's a shared obsession among these lords, giving orders on these swanky, impractical chairs.

I found it, so of course, I had to sit in it. And Yannick was quite displeased about it, which made me want to sit in it even more.

To be honest, though, this iron lump is more like a torture device. Heaven knows how Radegast manages to sit in his chair all day long. If you ask me, I'd definitely put a thick cushion on it and turn it into a cool armchair—better yet, add a neck pillow to make leaning on it a bit more comfortable.

To get back at Yannick for mocking my grand vision of "Lord Tan," I'm keeping my butt planted right in this seat.

While I was moving around trying to find a more comfortable sitting position, I found a line of small letters etched into the back of the chair: "Take this as a warning. Do not repeat the same mistake."

Yannick's nagging suddenly stopped. I guess those words were left by Lady Xuân Yèn.

I've never met the lady, but the guerrillas still kept her in their minds to this day. These words must have been important to her.

The stuff here should be useful to the guerrillas. I bet they'll dig their way in and take those books soon enough.

—Before I left, though, I accomplished one very, very important thing: took a selfie in this chair and sent it to everyone.
