Reliance and Pandora's Box is the sixth mission of Attal's Journey.
Objectives[edit]
- Head to the Bonfire to find Attal.
- Wait for Attal to finish singing the lullaby.
- Talk to Attal.
- Search for the enhanced Servitor.
- Defeat the Servitor to acquire materials.
- Pick up the first Servitor Core.
- Find the second enhanced Servitor.
- Rendezvous with the survivor.
- Defeat the second enhanced Servitor and the surrounding combatants.
- Pick up the second Servitor Core.
- Head to the Space Elevator Pit.
- Talk with the survivor.
- Install the Servitor core.
- Observe the Servitor.
- Deal with the rampaging High Servitor.

Attal: *gently sings*
- Wolf waits for her to step away from them before approaching.
Wolf: I hope I won't wake them.
Attal: You're back. You wanted to hear more, didn't you?
Wolf: You mean, about what happened after you decided to help them?
Attal: Yes… Time to finish the story.
Attal: A while after we first started communicating, the kind Eliksni told me he just needed a few more key materials to fix the Servitor—two of their cores, specifically.
Attal: So I headed to the Space Elevator…
- The scene shifts to the past. Attal is entering the cargo passage that leads to the Jiangshi Metro Space Elevator.
Attal: He asked me to bring down a couple of cores, saying they would complete their "hope."
- Attal heads deeper into the area, defeating Fallen forces along the way. The first Servitor is taken down and its core recovered.
Attal: I got the first one!
Attal: They're going to be so happy to see these. I can hardly wait!
Attal: And once that Servitor's fixed up, I'll ask his name.
Attal: Oh, but what if I can't pronounce it? Hmm…
Swift: I guess you'll want to give him…
Attal: Yes, that's it! I'll give him a nickname in our language!
Attal: And then he can give me one in Eliksni!
Swift: I think "Attal" is just fine, but if you want a strange nickname, be my guest…
Attal: How about you, Swi—
Swift: That won't be necessary. I'll stick with "Swift," thank you.
- Attal keeps heading deeper into the facility. Electricity can be seen arcing through the walls and objects. The second Servitor is defeated and its core recovered.
Attal: Yay! Here's the second one!
- Attal continues forward. More electricity can be seen in the surroundings.
Attal: Hmm… The electric field's getting stranger and strangers. Any ideas, Swift?
Swift: It might be an issue with the power supply. Let's have a look around.
- They enter a large, open area under the Space Elevator. A large battery is located in the center of the room. Electricity is coming out of wires connected to it.
Swift: Underneath it is…a storage battery.
Swift: If he fixes the Servitor here, it will indeed affect the electric field.
Attal: Yeah… I have a bad feeling about this.
- Attal jumps down into the pit below the battery. At the bottom, a High Servitor, Repaired "Hope", is stationed between two small pedestals while the Survivor, the Eliksni Attal has been helping, is working on a console near it.
Swift: The Servitor keeps releasing currents.
Attal: They're so unstable…
- Attal approaches the Eliksni.
Survivor: You…here…
Attal: Yes… Is this the Servitor you want to fix?
Attal: It's much bigger than I'd imagined, and it looks a bit… dangerous.
Survivor: Fix…then, good.
Attal: You mean, once you repair it, all this will be gone, right?
Survivor: Yes.
Attal: And the kids won't starve from a lack of Ether, right?
Survivor: Yes… They, good.
Attal: Good. I brought the Servitor cores you wanted.
Survivor: Thank, you… Install, please… I…do work.
Attal: Yes.
- Attal places the first core on one of the pedestals, receiving a shock in the process.
Attal: Aie! …The current's so volatile.
- Attal places the second core.
Survivor: Vola-tile? No…
- Shortly after placing the core, Repaired "Hope" begins to go on a rampage and attacks Attal.
Swift: Oh no, it's on the attack!
Swift: Stay back!
Swift: The Servitor's out of control!
Attal: How could this be…?
Swift: We need to stop it! It's sapping the plasma!
- Attal starts to defend herself.
Survivor: No, don't… Don't hurt, hope…
Swift: At this rate, it's going to blow up all of Jiangshi Metro!
Attal: We need to stop it!
Survivor: Con-trol, lost… I, can't.
- The Eliksni runs toward Repaired "Hope".
Survivor: Don't…hurt, stop…
Survivor: Please, stop…
Attal: It'll kill you all if we don't!
Survivor: No, not…poss-ible! Servitor…no…Eliksni…
Survivor: No hurt…us!
Attal: Don't lie to yourself! It's going to destroy Jiangshi…
Survivor: …You, attack Servitor. Enemy…
Survivor: Hope…won't die!
- The Eliksni becomes hostile and attacks Attal. Repaired "Hope" protects him, making him invulnerable through the fight.
Attal: Why…? Why? Y-You have a choice.
Attal: Do you remember Haven? The city I told you about.
Attal: Is living a peaceful life away from your pursuers not enough?
Survivor: I…human city… No…enter.
Survivor: For…give…
- Attal is able to bring Repaired "Hope" down enough that it is barely able to hold on, but she is interrupted by the Eliksni in front of her before she can finish it off.
Survivor: No, no… don't…
- Attal readies her hand cannon.
Survivor: Chil-dren… Ether, need!
- Attal lowers her weapon while she speaks to the Eliksni.
Attal: Go to Haven, where you can start a new life.
Survivor: Hope… cannot be… des-troyed!
- Repaired "Hope" readies its own attack. Attal readies her hand cannon at it.
Attal: Sorry, but I can't set loose this killing machine, knowing it's going to hurt people out there.
- The Eliksni looks back at Repaired "Hope" before jumping toward Attal. The scene turns black. Attal can be heard saying a pained whisper.
Attal: …Sorry…
