"And my vanquisher will read that book, seeking the weapon, and they will come to understand me, where I have been and where I was going."

Finnala approaches Kris at the Bonfire.

Kris: What is it, Lady Finnala?

Finnala: Just Finnala is fine.

Finnala: I had Lord Saladin confirm your identity and reported your assistance in the firebase. We would both like to express our sincere gratitude.

Kris: You were still suspicious?

Kris: You wound me, my lady! I'll have you know I've made somewhat of a name for myself as a mechanic in Veridia.

Finnala: Apologies. Perhaps it's because I do not know many people outside of my duties as an Iron Wolf.

Kris: Hah! Now that's interesting. The great Iron Wolf Finnala of Veridia isn't actually a Veridian. That's the first I've heard of it.

Kris: So, why'd you leave your hometown?

Kris: Let me guess. Glimmer? Fame? Adventure?

Finnala: There were…many reasons.

Finnala: Life often takes undesirable turns. And acknowledging the limits of our abilities is a step toward reconciliation.

Finnala: Now, Veridia is my home… Though I do sometimes find myself missing the warm winds of Bayda-Benghazi.

Kris: Bayda-Benghazi? That's your hometown?

Kris: That's all the way near the Sahara. You sure did come a long way.

Kris: I know a Lord Kandak down in the Sahara—uh, I mean, more like heard of him. But now I'm curious. Why not work with that lord?

Aiina: …Kris.

Kris: Uh…sorry. Why the sour expression?

Kris: I didn't mean to offend you with my joke.

Finnala: …No, it's nothing.

Finnala: If you know of him, then you ought to know that a traitorous, greedy, and cowardly man like him is not fit to be a lord.

Kris: Oh, okay… Okay.

Kris: I don't know him personally. But anyway, as a citizen of Veridia, I'm glad you're here.

Kris: After the Cabal invaded, life here was rough.

Kris: But you Lightbearers brought us hope.

Finnala: I haven't done anything for you, though…

Kris: Well, if you wanna rectify that, how about asking Saladin to give me a raise? Haha!

Finnala: …I think that's a good suggestion.

Finnala: Once you've decrypted the Cabal files in that chip, I'll consider submitting an application.

Kris: Eh—?! I was only joking…

Finnala: I wasn't.

Kris: Alright then. Take care of the Cabal threat, protect the Red Sea Rift. Your buddy Kris is on it!

Kris: Nala. Can I call you that? Anyways, gotta get those antiques down at the lab up and running.

Finnala: Let me know whenever you're ready.
