"And my vanquisher will read that book, seeking the weapon, and they will come to understand me, where I have been and where I was going."
The following is a verbatim transcription of an official document for archival reasons. As the original content is transcribed word-for-word, any possible discrepancies and/or errors are included.
Gwynn receives messages from Attal.

Attal: The militia told me they're raiding the Fallen armory this afternoon. Since I already agreed to do it, I'm going with them.

Attal: Don't worry. I'll keep an eye on Balder—err, Kyle—for you.

Gwynn and Crowther discuss going to the armory.

Gwynn: Crowther. Locate that armory.

Crowther: Ooo, we're headed out?

Crowther: Then let's get a move on! We'll make mincemeat of that scumbag!

Gwynn: Death's judgment must be fair.

Gwynn: Attal is right, we must first confirm how grievous his sins are.

Crowther: What's the use of that? Not even a hundred deaths would be enough for that guy.

Gwynn: Patience. No lies can withstand trial.

Gwynn and Crowther arrive at the armory.

Crowther: So… How do you plan to test him?

Gwynn: With something none of us can escape… The past.

Gwynn spray-paints a symbol of a sword pointed downward and wrapped around by a dragon onto a crate near the entrance.

Crowther: Is that…the blood dragon? You're making Walter's mark?

Crowther: I'll never forget that damned crest…

Crowther: That sadist even used it for his soldering iron.

Crowther: You should've let him die slower, y'know?

Crowther: Really given that bastard a taste of his own medicine.

Gwynn: Torturing him would change nothing. A final death was what he deserved.

Gwynn moves over to a movable platform, spray-painting 'J&M' onto its floor. The platform begins moving to a different part of the armory shorty after.

Crowther: "J and M?" Jeffrey and Manfred? Oh, those "best mates" of Kyle's.

Crowther: Y'know who I hated the most in their gang? Manfred.

Crowther: Always humiliating me and swinging me around on a chain like a ball…

Gwynn: He's dead, Crowther. We emerged victorious. That's what's important.

The platform comes to a stop at the end of a hall. A small vent is the only way to proceed farther.

Crowther: Are we going further in?

Gwynn jumps up into the vent. She spray-paints a code of numbers onto the wall near the front.
100
10
1111101

Crowther: What're these numbers? Ah, Walter's eld encryption code. "We Are Here?"

Crowther: If he can understand this, then he's definitely the same guy.

Crowther: No way he'd forget!

Crowther: So are we going to wait for him here?

Gwynn: Yes. We'll give him one night to see if he appears.

Hiding out of sight around a corner deeper through the vent, they wait to see if someone arrives. Some time passes before a Lightbearer comes into view.

Kyle: Jeff? Manfred? …I don't know how you found me, but I'm not going back with you. That life's over.

Kyle: I…I've washed my hands of it. I'm not that man anymore.

Gwynn: Are you so sure about that, Kyle?

Kyle places a barrier and runs out of the vent as soon as Gwynn reveals herself. She destroys the barrier and gives chase across stationary and moving platforms.

Kyle: Who—?! G-Gwynn?!

Kyle: So you've come to kill me… No! I won't die here!

Crowther: Then you'd better hope you're fast enough.

Kyle: Please, just give me another chance. I've changed my ways, I swear!

Gwynn: You are devious, you know that? Pretending to be mortal… You had me fooled.

Kyle: I know I did heinous, unspeakable things… And I want to make amends…

Kyle: That's what I've been doing all this time…

Gwynn: And who will accept your penance? The cut-up corpses you left to rot?

Gwynn: Do you still remember your little hunting game? This must feel quite familiar.

Kyle: I-I thought I had no other choice… I was too weak.

Kyle: If I didn't join them, Walter would've done the same to me…

As they're moving through the armory, Fallen forces are alerted to their presence and begin attacking them. Kyle's Arc energy causes inactive Arc traps to activate in of paths of some of the moving platforms. One of which completely blocks the way forward.

Crowther: You sniveling little coward—! Let's get him, Gwynn.

Gwynn defeats more Fallen forces in the way to go above the Arc energy. Kyle is at the end of the path, but puts up a new barrier and continues ahead of her, jumping down onto another moving platform.

Kyle: I-I'm sorry… I'm sorry! I know you hate me, I-I know…

Kyle: I could die a thousand—ten thousand deaths, and it still wouldn't be enough.

Kyle: But…please, give me a chance to atone—

Gwynn: Everyone must pay for their sins.

Kyle: I know, I've committed so many of them. Look—even my Ghost is messed up…

Kyle: He can't even respond anymore. It's the Traveler's punishment.

Kyle: It wants me to atone… If I have to repent for eternity, I will!

Crowther: Careful, Gwynn. His Arc energy activated the Fallen's barrier.

An Arc barrier fills the entire width of the path. Gwynn carefully heads through a small section where the energy doesn't reach.

Kyle: So please, let me keep trying! I beg of you!

Crowther: The Fallen are after him now, too. Come on, he won't get far.

After clearing out the Fallen, Gwynn heads down a narrow hall and into a dead-end room. Kyle is at the back with a barrier around him as protection.

Kyle: I want to be better, to do better… A-and I've been trying ever since that day. …!

Crowther: Pathetic. Your shield won't protect you now.

Gwynn starts damaging the shield.

Kyle: Please, just give me another chance. I've changed my ways, I swear!

Cracks begin to appear in the shield.

Kyle: So please, let me keep trying! I beg of you!

The shield shatters, throwing Kyle back onto the floor. He slowing stands up off his hands and knees with his Ghost hovering close by.

Kyle: *painful, deep breaths* W-wait.

Kyle: Look, Gwynn, I know full well…that I'm not making it out alive. But please…please take this.

Kyle: Give it to my men. They don't know anything. Really! They're innocent.

Kyle holds out a small device to Gwynn.

Kyle: I don't have anything to leave to them, but…maybe the supply coordinates here can help them.

Kyle: And…could you not… Please don't tell them about "Balder's" past, okay?

Gwynn: You feel shame.

Kyle: Those mortals don't need me—I need them.

Kyle: If I hadn't met them, who's to say I wouldn't be hanging from some tree?

Kyle: Doing good… It feels great. Amazing even. But…I know it's too late.

Kyle: The past is like Walter's mark on my sword… No matter what I do, I can't remove it.

Gwynn accepts the device with the coordinates. Kyle kneels as Gwynn takes out her scythe.

Kyle: *takes a deep breath* I'm ready…

Kyle looks to his Ghost.

Kyle: I'm sorry. It's my fault you ended up like this… And even now, I'm still dragging you down.

The scene turns black, and the sound of a scythe swinging can be heard. Gwynn lets out a hard breath.

Gwynn: Go.

Kyle's Ghost is on the floor. Kyle looks up to Gwynn in shock.

Kyle: Wh-what? But I'm…

Gwynn: Your Ghost's suffering is over. It has returned to the Light. As for you—you must leave here alone.

Gwynn: Do you truly want to atone? Then you will do it without the Light.

Gwynn: You don't get an eternity to earn forgiveness. Time will test you, Kyle.

Gwynn: But know this: I will be watching you until your final minutes.

Kyle: I understand… Thank you… Thank you, Gwynn, for giving me one last chance.
