Transcript[edit]
- Gwynn receives a series of messages from Attal.
Attal: Hi, Gwynn! Something's happened outside of Jiangshi Metro. The Fallen are rallying at the Weather Control Center.
Attal: I'm all ready to go investigate, but I figured I'd ask if you wanna come with me.
Gwynn: Fine…
Attal: Really? Yay! I'm so happy you're finally starting to care about Jiangshi's safety!
Gwynn: No. I'm simply thinking that if you were captured again, it'd just be more unnecessary trouble.
Attal: Aw, and here I was about to praise you. But no worries! Progress is progress, and that's what matters most.
Gwynn: All right. I'll meet you near the Weather Control Center.
- Gwynn meets up with Attal a little ways away from the facility's entrance.
Attal: Sorry to keep you waiting! I'm not too late, am I?
- They head toward the facility at the same time as Skiffs are seen flying over it.
Attal: Skiffs incoming! Be careful.
Swift: Ladies, there are enemies up ahead. Be ready for a fight.
Crowther: Worry about your own Lightbearer. Gwynn doesn't need reminders.
- Working together, they defeat the Fallen stationed at the entrance. They head inside the facility. Within the first room there are bodies of Fallen Captains stuck onto the floor with spears. Arc energy is radiating off of them.
Crowther: Ooo, this looks like that club in that one B-tier slasher flick after the killer lets loose.
Attal: Hmm. Look at all this damage. This doesn't look like the guerrillas' work. Let's keep going.
- More Fallen are encountered in the next room, but they had been shooting into the next room before being take out.
Attal: Those Fallen were shooting something above us. Must be some survivors up there.
- As they make their way into that room, shouting can be heard along with fighting against more Fallen. One of the walls of the room is made of a giant window, showing it downpouring outside.
Militia Soldier (1): We're nearly out of ammo!
Militia Soldier (2): I think someone's attacking the Fallen from behind.
Militia Soldier (3): Friendlies! Watch your crossfire.
- Gwynn and Attal help the survivors take out the remaining Fallen and speak with them.
Militia: Thanks for the help. We thought we were goners.
Attal: You're welcome! But…you aren't part of Jiangshi Metro's guerrillas, are you?
Militia: No, we're survivors from Old Europe. Unfortunately, we stumbled into Fallen territory…
Militia: Thought we'd found a place to hide, only to find we'd run right into one of their outposts.
Attal: Don't worry, we've cleared them all out.
Militia Soldier: Did you see our captain out there? He took a few others to find help.
Attal: Sorry, we only encountered Fallen on the way here. Did you split up? That's pretty dangerous.
Militia Soldier: The captain's a Lightbearer. He offered to go alone, but we knew he was going to need help.
Militia Soldier: However, we haven't heard anything since they left.
Attal: Rest assured, we'll bring your captain back safe and sound!
Gwynn: You stay here. I'll handle it.
Attal: But…
Gwynn: It's your choice.
Gwynn: Just know that the Fallen could come back to finish them off at any time, and you'll be left with nothing but remorse.
Attal: *sigh* Okay, okay. I'll stay. Just be careful out there!
- (Attal and the militia leave) Some time later…
- Gwynn can hear Attal and some militia members speaking over the comms.
Militia Soldier (1): Please, find the captain. We're counting on you.
Attal: Let's go. I'll bring you someplace safe.
Militia Soldier (2): The captain will be fine…won't he?
Militia Soldier (3): Check your gear. How much ammo do we have left?
- The comms go quiet as Gwynn heads deeper into the facility. After jumping over a large gap, more Fallen are encountered in a wide tunnel with window walls. Water, fish, and shipwrecks are all that can see seen out of them.
Crowther: Ugh, these guys are everywhere… Open one door, and they come scurrying out like cockroaches from an old kitchen cabinet.
- After defeating the Fallen in the passage, more Fallen bodies are seen once again impaled into the floor and walls with Arc energy coming off their bodies.
Crowther: What's wrong? Fallen and you can't get up?
Crowther: That captain of their's ain't too shabby.
- Beyond them is a room that ends with an elevator. More Fallen are guarding it.
Crowther: No corpses yet. Must have taken the elevator up.
- As Gwynn takes the elevator, able to see the water through its walls, rock music starts to play.
Crowther: I hear a fight up there. Looks like we've finally made it. Time to rock!
Gwynn: Turn that off.
Crowther: You got it, Boss.
- It becomes quiet as the elevator finishes its ascent above water. Gwynn is now on a large platform surrounded by water. On the far side, an Arc wall barrier can be seen with people inside of it. Between them are more Fallen.
Militia Soldier (1): Captain!
Militia Soldier (2): Another Lightbearer! Help!
Crowther: There goes the Skiff. And we just got here, too! Buncha cowards.
Crowther: Looks like all that's left is the clean-up.
- Gwynn finished up the Fallen and their reinforcements. She and Crowther go over to where the other survivors are.
Crowther: Is that an Arc barrier?
- The Arc barrier's energy is coming out of a sword jammed into the floor.
Crowther: A sword? Hmm. Maybe that unlucky Lightbearer's Relic?
- The sword is removed and the barrier dissipates. Gwynn and Crowther speak with the militia soldiers.
Militia Soldier (1): There's still a chance. That ship can't have made it far!
Militia Soldier (2): No, it's too late…
Militia Soldier (1): You're a Lightbearer too, aren't you? Ugh, why couldn't you have gotten here sooner and stopped that Skiff?
Crowther: Oi, you watch your bloody tone.
Militia Soldier (2): What the—?! Th-the Ghost's talking!
Crowther: Were you born yesterday? Of course I can talk. Why wouldn't I?
Militia Soldier (2): S-sorry… The captain's has never said a word, I-I didn't know you could!
Militia Soldier (2): Apologies for his outburst. He's just worried about the captain.
- Gwynn shows them the sword that had created the Arc barrier.
Gwynn: I take it this belongs to them?
- The sword is passed over to the militia soldier.
Militia Soldier (2): Yeah, it's his Relic. If he hand's used it to protect us, those Fallen wouldn't have got the upper hand…
Militia Soldier (2): Anyway, thanks for the help, Lightbearer.
Gwynn: Take care of your wounds. The rest of your team is waiting outside.
