Specifications

Element:

Solar/Rising Solar

Core mechanics:

Barrier[Key Word 1]
Confinement[Key Word 2]
Crowd Control[Key Word 3]
Mobility[Key Word 4]

Overview[edit]

Traits
  • Mythic
  • Solar
  • Defense
  • Medium Range Combat
Weapons

Relic Abilities[edit]

Passive
  • Scorching Sky: Directly dealing damage to combatants accumulates Solar Energy. When Solar Energy reaches its max value of 300, it will refresh the cooldown of Dual Thermodynamics/Cyclone Ablaze abilities and enhance them. Casting any enhanced ability causes Tariq to enter the Scorching Sky[Key Word 5] state for 10s.

Signatures
  • Dual Thermodynamics 18.0s

Barrier[Key Word 1] Tariq throws two scimitars which fly in an arc and return after intersecting, dealing damage to combatants in their path, inflicting Gale Mark,[Key Word 6] returning partial energy to Dual Thermodynamics, and applying Gale Barrier[Key Word 7] to Tariq.

Tariq throws the scimitars toward the reticle. The scimitars fly in an arc, intersect at their maximum distance of 20m, then fly back.

While mid-flight, the scimitars will overpenetrate combatants within a 5-meter radius, dealing 400[Parameter 1] Solar damage each and inflicting Gale Mark for 10s. If the scimitars hit the same target again within a short period of time, they will inflict Knockout.[Key Word 8]

While the scimitars are flying back, they will recharge Dual Thermodynamics by up to 6% per overpenetration, capping out at 30% energy. Additionally, they will grant Tariq Gale Barrier with durability equal to 6000[Parameter 2] for (10 + the number of combatants overpenetrated)s, up to 15s.

When enhanced, Dual Thermodynamics will generate 2 additional phantom scimitars when thrown, which deal 400[Parameter 1] Solar damage on overpenetration. When the scimitars and the phantoms fly back, they will apply a more potent Gale Barrier and return energy based on the number of targets overpenetrated.

  • Cyclone Ablaze 16.0s

Confinement[Key Word 2] Crowd Control[Key Word 3] Mobility[Key Word 4]

Tariq draws his scimitars, dodges, and unleashes a burning tornado, pulling in and damaging combatants.

Tariq draws his scimitars, dodges in the direction he's moving in, and launches a Cyclone Ablaze.

The tornado pulls in combatants within a 3-meter radius and drags them to its destination. Cyclone Ablaze will explode once it collides with terrain or a target it can't pull in, once it reaches its destination, or once it collides with the Windwrought Prison[Key Word 9] from the inside, dealing 2000[Parameter 3] Solar damage to combatants within a 6-meter radius and inflicts Knockout[Key Word 8] and Confined for 3s. If Cyclone Ablaze pulls in a target inflicted with Gale Mark,[Key Word 6] the pull/blast radius will be increased by 25%, increasing by up to 100%.

Enhanced Cyclone Ablaze will gain the max pull/blast radius, and when it explodes, it will generate 6 split cyclones that travel outward. The split cyclones will explode once they travel 6m or collide with terrain, dealing 1600[Parameter 3] Solar damage to targets within a 8-meter radius and inflicting Confined for 3s.

Super
  • Wind Meets Fire 120.0s

Barrier[Key Word 1] Confinement[Key Word 2] Crowd Control[Key Word 3]

Tariq throws two scimitars, generates a barrier at the target location, and enters his Super state. Attacking while in the Super state throws Super-empowered scimitars for AoE ranged strikes. Super-empowered scimitars can ricochet off obstacles to deal additional damage.

Tariq throws the scimitars up to 30m toward the reticle and generates a Windwrought Prison[Key Word 9] barrier at the end of their flight path. This barrier has a radius of 6m and lasts for 20s. Tariq will also enter his Super state.

While his Super is active, Tariq's movement speed is increased by 20%, and he gains a certain amount of damage reduction. Tapping the attack button while in this state will launch the scimitars. Super-empowered scimitars overpenetrate combatants within a 5-meter radius and deal 3200[Parameter 4] Solar damage on hit. When Super-empowered scimitars collide with terrain or the inside of the Windwrought Prison barrier, they will ricochet. After ricocheting, the scimitars can deal damage to the same target again, but the damage dealt by consecutive hits decreases by 50% each time.

Relic Traits
  • Wind Energy Conversion: When Tariq gains Gale Barrier,[Key Word 7] if there are allies within a 15-meter radius, he shares Gale Barrier with them. The durability is equal to 50% of his own barrier's remaining durability and has the same duration as Tariq's. Barriers can be shared once.
  • Whirlwind Spark: When Cyclone Ablaze is generated, it creates a whirlwind, pulling in combatants within a 10-meter radius.
  • Overloaded Fire: When Tariq deals damage, additional damage is dealt based on the number of targets inflicted with Gale Mark[Key Word 6] hit by the attack. Base/elite/boss-tier combatants grant an additional 5%/10%/15% damage each for up to 30% additional damage.

Weapon Mastery
  • Blaze Shot
  • LV.2: Increases the base damage of Thermal Energy by an additional 25%.
  • LV.3: Increases the base damage of Thermal Energy by an additional 60%.
  • LV.4: When Thermal Energy damages combatants inflicted with Gale Mark[Key Word 6], it triggers 1 instance of Wind's Howl.[Key Word 11] This effect can trigger once every 1s.
  • LV.5: Increases the base damage of Thermal Energy by an additional 100%.

Talent Tree[edit]

  • Windborne Breath: When Wind's Howl[Key Word 11] is triggered by Blaze Shot, Tariq's Blaze Shot status will be extended by 1s, up to a max duration of 10s.
  • Howling Barrage: When Wind's Howl hits the same target consecutively within 6s, it deals an additional 50% per additional hit, increasing by up to 200%.
  • Windswept Clouds: Increases the max durability of the Gale Barrier[Key Word 7] Tariq applies to himself by 25%.
  • Like the Scorching Sun: While the Scorching Sun[Key Word 5] effect is active, Tariq's damage bonus is increased to 60%.
  • Tyrannical Gale: Gale Mark's[Key Word 6] duration is increased to 15s. Wind's Howl's damage dealt is increased by an additional 50%.
  • Cloud-Rending Fire: Cyclone Ablaze's max charges are increased by 1, and dealing damage grants 1 stack of Gales' Intendment. Each stack of Gales' Intendment increases the ability damage of the next Cyclone Ablaze cast by 10%, up to a max of 50%.

Ascend[edit]

  • LV.1: For 15s after pulling in or knocking back a combatant, all of Tariq's damage dealt increases by 4%, and he gains an additional 6% damage resistance.
  • LV.2: For 15s after pulling in or knocking back a combatant, all of Tariq's damage dealt increases by 5%, and he gains an additional 7.5% damage resistance.
  • LV.3: For 15s after pulling in or knocking back a combatant, all of Tariq's damage dealt increases by 6.5%, and he gains an additional 9.75% damage resistance.
  • LV.4: For 15s after pulling in or knocking back a combatant, all of Tariq's damage dealt increases by 8%, and he gains an additional 12% damage resistance.
  • LV.5: For 15s after pulling in or knocking back a combatant, all of Tariq's damage dealt increases by 10%, and he gains an additional 15% damage resistance.

Ifrit and Tempest[edit]

"Born in a smokeless fire, yearning to burn all to ashes."

Flame-Borne Eternity[edit]

Ifrit and Tempest were forged by the nomads' elder blacksmiths, a group of survivors assembled from across the world. They gathered 101 Arc blades taken from House of Devils Captains, broke them into pieces, then lit the flames of a forge in the ruins of Palmyra, smelting the metal anew. Following that were days and nights of repeated cooling, cutting, soldering, heating, and forging. They eventually became the most precious gift Tariq received from his partner, Thurayya.

Tariq[edit]

"A stellar treasure hunter, outstanding appraiser of Golden Age relics, and a reliable guide—at least, that's how he promotes himself."

Name: Tariq Amar

Race: Human

Revival Location: Arabian Peninsula

Ghost: Penny

Relic: Ifrit and Tempest

First revived in the Syrian desert, Tariq wandered the desert for a long time until eventually, he met a group of nomads. They were traveling through the ruins of cities in the Arabian Peninsula in search of Golden Age artifacts they could sell to Warlords or black market merchants. He joined their team, and one of their archaeologists, Thurayya, became Tariq's guide to nomadic life. She told the amnesiac Tariq all she knew about the Golden Age and its history.

Over time, Tariq became familiar with nomadic life in the desert and grew curious about Golden Age artifacts.

Penny[edit]

A somewhat clumsy Ghost who often makes a mess of things, but always keeps a positive attitude. Although Penny's foolishness often leaves Tariq speechless, her sincerity and enthusiasm have cemented her as his best friend.

"And my vanquisher will read that book, seeking the weapon, and they will come to understand me, where I have been and where I was going."
The following is a verbatim transcription of an official document for archival reasons. As the original content is transcribed word-for-word, any possible discrepancies and/or errors are included.

Recipe I[edit]

[The following is a copy of Thurayya's handwritten recipe.]

Sheikh Al-Mahshi

Ingredients: Zucchini

[Added note] Don't use the long kind. Use short, thick gray zucchini.

Filling: 500g ground meat, 3 tablespoons olive oil, 1 onion (diced), 1 teaspoon five-spice powder, salt to taste, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

[Added note] Where the heck did Thurayya get this "teaspoon" thing from?

Sauce: 2kg yogurt, splash of olive oil, sprinkle of salt

[Added note] DO NOT use Dydron-brand yogurt stored at room temperature. DISASTER!

[Added note] I think Thurayya used canola oil before.

Preparing the filling:

Add olive oil and diced onion to the pan. Cook on medium-low heat for 5-7min, stirring occasionally.

[Added note] What is medium-low heat?

Add ground meat, salt, and spices. Break up chunks of ground meat, stir-frying until the mince browns. Turn off the heat and set the filling aside for later.

Preparing the squash: Core the zucchini.

[Added note] I give up. I'll never be able to hollow out a zucchini using a knife as perfectly as Thurayya did.

Scoop the filling into each zucchini half, leaving about 2cm of space at the top. Don't stuff them too full. Otherwise, the zucchini may burst, or the excess filling will seep into the yogurt sauce, changing its color and flavor.

Add olive oil to the pan, then lightly fry the zucchini, gently turning it every minute or so. Fry until the zucchini is gold all over.

Combine:

Place the fried zucchini into the yogurt sauce, then simmer again at a medium-low heat. Once you've added the zucchini, the sauce will thicken.

Stir it a bit, then cover the pan and let it sit for 10-15min.

[Added note] Even if I use fresh yogurt, I can never get it to taste like Thurayya's.

Re: To: Re: To: Re: To: Re: … Deidris[edit]

To: Deidris

Remember those modded weapons we discussed? Well… Now's! The! TIME!

From: Deidris

What modded weapons?

To: Deidris

Don't play dumb! If you won't listen to me, how about I report you to that Lady Perun?! Those Black Armory weapons have already been reserved! And if the buyer doesn't get them on time, they'll skin me alive! If that happens, you're going down with me!

From: Deidris

What are you talking about? The Iron Lords' Arms and Hazardous Materials Committee oversees the Black Armory's guns. They aren't allowed to be traded on the market. Where'd you even get this idea from?

To: Deidris

You're one hell of an actor, you know that? But I've already told the buyer who you are. You're not getting outta this so easily.

From: Anon#5886

You IDIOT! Who said you could contact my work account?!

To: Anon#5886

You'd been playing dead for a whole week! What's up with the weapons? They should be arriving in Damascus tomorrow. Don't tell me they haven't even been shipped out yet?

From: Anon#5886

Lady Perun reassigned me. They've got someone else on the arms transport squad, and the driver's changed, too. Also, I heard something unexpected happened with this latest trade. Meyrin's remote authorization had some issues, which resulted in gun inspection being delayed. My guess is they're still held up in Irbid waiting for the tech officer to come solve the problem.

To: Anon#5886

So?

From: Anon#5886

So there's no way they'll arrive in Damascus tomorrow.

To: Anon#5886

Then what should we do?!

From: Anon#5886

There is one way we could solve this. I can send the address to you, then you can head to Irbid and nab the goods.

To: Anon#5886

You've gotta be joking! You're wanting me to steal guns from the Iron Lords' caravan?!

From: Anon#5886

Says the guy who always has me doing that sorta stuff all the time.

To: Anon#5886

How's this the same?! Also, aren't you getting paid for this, too?!

From: Anon#5886

That's the only solution I've got. What you do with it is up to you. If you can't pull it off, we're both screwed.

To: Anon#5886

…Send me the coordinates. This time, you're only getting a 40% kickback. Assuming I even live to give you the payment.

From: Anon#5886

No way. 80%. Stealing a few guns should be a piece of cake for you.

To: Anon#5886

This was supposed to be your job! But here I am, cleaning up your mess! 50%.

From: Anon#5886

Deal.

Birdwatching I[edit]

I hadn't been birdwatching in a long time. Not since Thurayya passed. But today, I had some time on my hands for once, so I recorded what I saw.

Location: Yangtze River Estuary

Magpie Robin

Looks like a mini magpie.

Light-vented Bulbul

I was lucky and saw it carrying some cotton back to its nest (no idea where it found that, though).

Common Moorhen

Thurayya would always burst out laughing whenever she saw them "walking" on the water.

Japanese White-eye

It's so pretty it might as well have flown out of a painting.

Vinous-throated Parrotbill

How is such a tiny bird so noisy?

Blackbird

It took a dump on my head.

Hoopoe

While it was flying, I could see its brownish red fan-shaped crest fluttering in the wind. I think that means it was a female.

Silky Starling

A big flock of them—meaning that when one of them used my head as a toilet, it was impossible to find the culprit.

White Wagtail

Got really lucky today and saw it kill a grasshopper.

Note: My smart binoculars are bugging out. Need to get them fixed. They kept zooming in on the reeds for some reason.

Recipe II[edit]

[The following is a copy of Thurayya's handwritten recipe.]

Creamy Freekeh with Chicken and Mushrooms

Ingredients: 3 cups of coarse freekeh, a small amount of olive oil, 1 chopped onion, 500g diced chicken, diced fresh mushrooms, 2 teaspoons salt, 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder, 1 teaspoon five-spice powder, 5 cups water, 500ml cream, 1/2 cup grated cheese

[Added note] I left that blue puppy cup Thurayya always cooked with in her grave. I'm such a fool.

Preparing the freekeh: Place the freekeh in a bowl and rinse 2-3 times until the water becomes clear. Fill with water again and soak for 15min.

[Added note] It's impossible to get the water clear with just 2-3 rinses!

Cooking:

Heat the empty pot over a medium heat, then add the olive oil and diced onions, stir-frying for 3-5min.

Add the mushrooms, then cook for 7-10min.

Add the chicken and fry until both sides are golden.

[Added note] There's definitely something missing between this step and the next step. If only I could check the original. And where's the original? You burned it in a fire, idiot!

Drain the freekeh and add it to the pot along with salt, cardamom, and five-spice powder.

Add more water and turn the heat down to medium-low. Cover the pot and cook for 20min, until the freekeh has absorbed the water.

[Added note] Don't forget to put the lid on! Otherwise the moisture will boil away! Can use a bulletproof plate in place of a lid if needed!

Add the cheese and cream and mix well. Cook for 3-5min, then turn off the heat and cover. Let it sit for 15min, then enjoy!

Fabry Disease[edit]

[The following excerpt was taken from the Bray Shiraz Rare Diseases Research Center's database.]

"Fabry disease was named after one of the first doctors to document it, Johannes Fabry. It is a rare genetic metabolic disorder in which mutations in the GLA gene lead to a reduced or complete deficiency of alpha-galactosidase A (α-Gal A) activity, resulting in abnormal glucose metabolism. This leads to the accumulation of metabolic substrates in lysosomes of multiple organs throughout the body, which then causes related organ lesions…

…This disease is an X-linked dominant genetic disorder; i.e., male patients are guaranteed to pass the disease on to biological daughters, but not to sons, and female patients have a 50% probability of passing the disease down regardless of whether they give birth to a boy or a girl…

Major Classifications:

(1) Classic: More common in men, onset in childhood.

(2) Delayed Onset: More common in women, with an onset age of 40-70 years old. Delayed onset cases are significantly more common than classic cases.

Prevalence: The exact prevalence rate of this disease is currently unclear, with an estimated prevalence rate of 1/100000 in the general population.

…Fabry disease can affect various organs throughout the body. In childhood, it mainly affects the peripheral nerves, eyes, skin, and gastrointestinal tract, while in adulthood, it mainly affects the central nervous system, heart, and kidneys.

Peripheral Nerves: Burning sensation in the palms and soles of the feet (a type of neuropathic pain); hearing loss (sensorineural hearing loss); significant reduction of sweat production, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal distension (affected autonomic nervous system).

Central Nervous System: Possibility for early onset cerebrovascular events, including cerebral infarction and transient ischemic attacks.

Eyes: Patients may experience impaired vision or even blindness, and often seek medical attention for this reason…

Heart: May manifest as coronary heart disease, arrhythmia, heart valve disease, etc. In later stages, acute myocardial infarction and heart failure may occur, which are the leading causes of death for late-stage patients…

Kidneys: Possibility for hematuria, proteinuria, and some manifestations of nephrotic syndrome. Approximately 30% of patients progress to renal failure around the age of 30. …This disease can also affect the respiratory system, leading to chronic bronchitis, or the skeletal system, in which case osteoporosis is more common.

Fabry disease lacks specific symptoms and is thus prone to misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis. The average time from symptom onset to definitive diagnosis is 14.8 years, though in extreme cases, this can take several decades…

The diagnosis of Fabry disease requires a combination of clinical manifestations, biochemical tests, genetic testing, and other indicators. In some cases, pathological biopsy may be necessary. Important testing methods include:

1. Biochemical Test:

(1) α-Gal A Activity Detection: Severe decrease or loss of α-Gal A activity indicates this disease in male patients. Female patients have two X chromosomes, one of which carries the mutated gene, thus interfering with the alpha Gal A activity detection. Due to this, diagnosis requires testing of both genes and other indicators.

(2) GL-3 Levels: Elevated plasma GL-3 and Lyso-GL-3 levels indicate the presence of this disease.

2. Genetic Testing: Currently, there are nearly 1,000 reported GLA mutations, with pathogenic or benign gene mutations being detected in approximately 80% of patients.

3. Pathological Biopsy: Used to inspect kidney, heart, skin, or nerve tissue. Electron microscopy can reveal the typical pathological features of lysosomal glucose and lipid aggregation, or 'myeloid bodies.' …"

[Added note] So back then, there was no way we could've predicted or diagnosed this disease, let alone treated it. A rare yet deadly illness…

Update: Entry has been set as "Hidden" for Penny.

Wristband[edit]

Jotting down some thoughts:

I want to use gold, platinum, silver, and aluminum alloy to create the wristband. To achieve the visual effect of my last design, I'll need at least 40g of gold.

A millimeter-sized battery pack needs to be embedded inside the wristband to ensure that the storage inside never loses power.

The Taketori Industry lab in Chemnitz produced a series of prototypes that can coil current collectors and electrode materials into millimeter-level cylindrical structures. By connecting additional high-power thermal energy collectors and kinetic energy collectors, the wristband would be capable of repeated charging, and the storage chip would be able to run for up to 240 hours after a full charge. I can try my luck there.

However, the size and weight of thermal and kinetic energy collectors are an issue. Based on the files I've read so far, collectors that meet the minimum power requirements are too large and heavy to be installed on a wristband. Not to mention I'd have to keep multiple backups with me at all times.

I need to figure out this chip thing fast. If Lanigann doesn't have chips that meet the performance standard, then my only choice is Sandman over in Austin. He controls the only known SRAM chip production line that's still operational. Unfortunately, I hear he's running low on raw materials and warring with the Iron Lords. There's no way Sandman would be so merciful as to send me a chip directly. He'd definitely have me running around and doing his dirty work.

The front of the bracelet would be made of a combination of sapphire and diamond—nothing too difficult to achieve. I've already got plenty of large, high-quality raw stones ready to go. But cutting and polishing them needs a certain level of meticulousness. I'll find a reliable artisan at the shelter in Marrakesh next time I'm there.

Thurayya's condition is getting worse and worse. Hopefully, I make it in time.

I WILL make it in time.
