Code Guards are special Fallen Heavy Shanks built by Ithyks, the Scrapworker. They are encountered in her lair in the asteroid 8319 Antiphanes of the Themis Cluster.

Gameplay

Code Guards hold the Bypass Codes necessary to open the energy shields protecting various sections of the hideout, and need to be destroyed to collect them. One Code Guard appears in the initial room of the hideout, alongside numerous Shanks, Tracer Shanks and Exploder Shanks. Upon killing it, another one will show up with its own reinforcements, and then another one upon destroying that. They don't move very far from their starting positions, but are quick to fire their cannons at the player, and won't stop until they're dead. Two more Code Guards are summoned by Ithyks during her fight against the player, which must be destroyed to take down the two energy walls she will hide behind.
