Resile is the final mission of Episode: Heresy.

Break through enemy forces and locate the Echo of Navigation's position.

Take up Willbreaker, shatter the Echo of Navigation, and end Oryx's journey once and for all.

"And my vanquisher will read that book, seeking the weapon, and they will come to understand me, where I have been and where I was going."The following is a verbatim transcription of an official document for archival reasons. Eris Morn: If I can claim the Dread's power, it may be enough to strike Oryx from the Echo. Go!

Sloane: The Drifter and I are clearing the LZ. Press forward as soon as you're on the ground.

Echo of Navigation: I promised I would test you.

Eris Morn: You will not triumph. I AM your prison.

The Guardian lands at the Hull Breach on the Dreadnaught.

Hull Breach, Dreadnaught, Rings of Saturn

Drifter: Everyone's here to throw a party, huh?

If the Guardian chooses to speak with Drifter taking cover behind a barrier.

Drifter: Got wind the leader of this bunch of Dread is around here too. Good. I'm not about to get in your way, hero. I can tell you've got murder on the mind. If you beat me to that son of a worm, you fire a couple extra shots for me, got it? Keep moving.

Battling through the forces of the Dire Taken and Xivu Arath's Horde, the Guardian approaches the tunnel leading to the Mausoleum where the Resonant Knife materializes.

Eris Morn: There! The Resonant Knife approaches at Oryx’s bidding! You must— [cries in pain]

Drifter: Eris! Hey, Guardian — shoot fast, y'hear?

The Guardian defeats Dire Taken to summon forth Willbreaker.

Willbreaker calls from beyond…

Sloane: Willbreaker is your tool now, Guardian. Go.

Brandishing Willbreaker, the Guardian breaks the Resonant Knife's shield and deals considerable damage to the Taken Subjugator, forcing it to retreat.

Eris Morn: Oryx is loose upon his throne. You must pursue him, Guardian.

With the Taken Shield blocking the way forward dissipates, the Guardian travels through the tunnels and arrives to the Mausoleum.

Mausoleum, Dreadnaught, Rings of Saturn

Drifter: A whole squirm of Xivu's Hive broke through behind you. Keep going — I got 'em. I'm just saying, don't slow down, hero. Do you know how many Hive a squirm is? It's a lot.

Sloane: I can move to support. Need backup?

Drifter: Wouldn't say no.

Pushing forward past the clashing Dire Taken and Lucent Hive, the Guardian travels to the bottom of the Mausoleum where they encounter the Resonant Knife manifests in response to their arrival.

Eris Morn: I am the knife-edged hunger! I am—I am—

Echo of Navigation: I am the way-tearer, death-charter, first among navigators. And I am FREE! Aiat!

The Guardian defeats Dire Taken, including two Channelers of Terror to summon forth Willbreaker They then breaks the Resonant Knife's shield and diminishes its health further, driving the Dread leader to retreat once again. With the Echo of Navigation breaking free from Eris's grasp, the Guardian returns to the upper floor of the Mausoleum.

Eris Morn He flees across the entirety of the Dreadnaught. These movements have purpose. Does he seek the helm to steer back to Fundament at last? I will not let him.

Pursuing the Echo's location, the Guardian travels through the Ascendant Plane and arrive to the Trenchway where they meet up with Sloane.

Trenchway, Dreadnaught, Rings of Saturn

Sloane: Looks like you're hanging in there. Glad to see it. We're past the point of being careful. Make sure the risks you do take are worth it. Strike first, strike hardest. And see the fight through, Guardian.

As Sloane transmatts away, the Guardian travels to the entrance leading to the outside portion of the Trenchway.

Eris Morn: Oryx… has stopped? And I have not yet seized hold of him. Catch up to him, Guardian, but remain wary. There is very little for him to gain by staying.

Arriving to the outside area of the Trenchway, the Guardian finds the Echo contained in a Taken shield aboard the platform. Abruptly, the Guardian is ambushed by Lucent Hive led by two Projections of Savathûn while Taken Blights manifest across the location.

Savathûn: We are finished, Guardian. All slates wiped clean, no more old times' sake. You and I, we are not friends. Universe preserved, Witness dead. All that you begged me for, I have given. And it's still not enough for you, is it? All I asked was for you to stay away from my family matters. A simple request.

Slaying the Projections of Savathûn, the Guardian is transported into a Blighted Cyst.

Blighted Cyst, Restricted Zone

Echo of Navigation: [exhales] I sense you there, Eris Morn. Heretic Queen. Will you chain me again?

Eris Morn: I can hold you long enough. I reach through my weapon even now.

Echo of Navigation: I do not yield. But, I have nowhere left to go.

The Guardian destroys the Shade of Oryx to summon forth and claim Willbreaker. After being transported back to the Trenchway, the Guardian destroys Dire Taken and damages the Echo until it becomes enveloped in a Taken shield. The Guardian is then confronted by forces of the God of War led by the Voice of Xivu Arath. Slaying Xivu Arath's voice, the Guardian is transported back to the Blighted Cyst.

Echo of Navigation: Have you counted the stars, Guardian-Knife? Have you understood the spaces between them? I vowed once to understand. And I have not. And I do not. Every vow I have made is empty.

The Guardian slays the Shade of Oryx and acquires Willbreaker, returning to the Trenchway, they damage the Echo until it becomes enveloped in a Taken shield. Subsequently, the Resonant Knife materializes at the top steps and the Guardian is transported into the Blighted Cyst.

Echo of Navigation: I have already failed. As my sisters have become heretics, so too, have I. Long ago, Oryx was killed. If I am still Oryx, then I am already dead. And if I am not Oryx, then I do not live. Aiat. That is enough.

The Guardian defeats the Shade of Oryx to summon forth and acquire Willbreaker once more. After claiming the blade, the Resonant Knife pursues the Guardian into the Cyst along with its Dread forces. Despite its resilience, the Guardian pierces the Subjugator's shield and kills the Resonant Knife to return to the Trenchway.

Sloane: We can't risk him loose for good. It's time to call it.

Eris Morn: I had him within my grasp… I was so close. So close. And yet… You are right. We cannot take this risk any longer.

Utilizing the power of Willbreaker, the Guardian destroys the Echo of Navigation, culminating in it thrusting away from the Dreadnaught where it forms into the Taken King's symbol and detonates, releasing swirls of energy that flying into the distance.

Echo of Navigation: At least the stars will remember the shape I gave them…

Eris Morn: His foundations were lies, and he was a traitor even to himself. And yet… The edges of this plane are ragged where he stood. A monster. A piteous fool. A brother… Aiat.
