ABHORRENT IMPERATIVE is the seventh Mission of Season of the Seraph. Eramis, Kell of Darkness has managed to find a backdoor into Seraph Station's systems and is preparing to activate the ABHORRENT IMPERATIVE protocol. The Guardian deploys to the space station and rushes to the control room to manually upload Rasputin's Pillory Engram into the system and abort the Warsat's launch.[1] This mission's node can be accessed again from the H.E.L.M..

  • Find an Entrance
    • Find an exterior entrance to Seraph Station.
  • Avoid Bombardment
    • Traverse the station while avoiding incoming anti-personnel fire.
  • Defeat Eramis, Kell of Darkness
  • Clear the Hangar
    • Defeat Eramis's reinforcements
  • Stop the Firing Sequence
    • Reach the communications room and stop Eramis.
  • Transmat pad active
    • Rasputin has activated a transmat pad to the bridge.
  • Fight to the Bridge
    • Break through combatant resitance and get to Seraph Station's bridge.
  • Clear the Brigde
    • Clean the bridge of combatants to safely begin the upload process.
  • Install the Pillory Engram
    • Initiate the upload at the terminal.

Ana Bray: We only get one shot at this. It's all on us. House Salvation has locked down the launch facility, and we don't have time to regain control. Rasputin is going to try to remotely scramble the station's defenses — buy you a couple of seconds to do a flyby and transmat in.

Rasputin: Emphasis: A couple of seconds. Brace yourself.

{Mission: begins}

Ana Bray: House Salvation on high alert! They'll throw everything they have at you. Empress Caiatl is scrambling imperial warships to divert the fleet's attention. Get to the command center so we can start the upload.

Rasputin: Warning: A Salvation Ketch is not following the Empress' diversion.

Ana Bray: It's maintaining position at the station. They know you're there. Hurry!

Rasputin: Portions of our backdoor protocols still remain. I will see what systems I can access to aid you, Guardian.

//VIRAL INJECTION DETECTED
//Countermeasure: SILENT VELES activated

Ana Bray: I'm reading movement in the hangar bay. House Salvation is preparing to repel your boarding!

//Morality processes offline: MIDNIGHT EXIGENT in effect

Eramis: There you are. I knew it would be you.

//Safety protocols disengaged
Eramis fights the Guardian.

Eramis: This was it? This was your final resistance? I expected more. House Salvation, destroy the Guardian, and vengeance for Riis is ours!

Rasputin: Guardian, Eramis has begun initiating the firing sequence. We do not have much time.

//Root access granted: SYSTEM INITIALIZING

Rasputin: I have gained access to a portion of station security. Deploying heavy frames to clear your advance.

//Activate LOKI CROWN
//Prevent [O] departure by any means available
The path forward is covered in Stasis.

Rasputin: The way to Eramis is sealed; I cannot gain access. However… Transmat systems are now partially under my control. I have secured a transmat pad to the bridge.

//SPOOF: ISR and WARWATCH indicates imminent [O] departure

Rasputin: Hive forces detected. Deploying heavy frames.

//LOKI CROWN status: 20%

The Bulwark of Xivu Arath blocks the way forward.

Ana Bray: Eramis has the Warsat firing systems at 75%! We're running out of time!

Rasputin: Clear the resistance and engage the Pillory Engram to the main comms console.

The Guardian installs the Pillory Engram.
//LOKI CROWN status: 93%

Ana Bray: No, no, no! Warsats at 93%!

Ir Garza, Scourge of Earth, arrives to stop the Guardian.
//LOKI CROWN status: 96%
Ir Garza summons a Shieldweaver Knight to sustain her shield.
//LOKI CROWN status: 98%
The Guardian defeats Ir Garza.

Ana Bray: Something's happening. Do you feel that? It's like a — a heartbeat?

Osiris: I feel… nothing. But there's activity in the City. In the Tower. The Traveler is reacting.

Exo Stranger: I don't like this. It's too… familiar.

Rasputin: It is.

{Cutscene}

The Crow looks out from the rooftop of a building in the Last City, and watches as the Traveler begins to leave Earth.
In the Eliksni Quarter, Mithrax and Eido, alongside both Eliksni and Humans watch the Traveler rise.
From the streets of the City, Saint-14 comforts Osiris as they watch the Traveler.
At the Tower, Ikora stands by Zavala as they watch the Traveler.
Eido climbs a stack of crates to see the Traveler better, and looks back down at Mithrax, as he receives a call from Eramis.

Eramis: It's happening again.

Eramis is seen in the Seraph Station, preparing the Warsats for launch at a console.

Eramis: The Whirlwind.

Mithrax: Eramis?

Eramis: Don't worry. The Great Machine will never abandon anyone again.

The Traveler rises up from the Earth's atmosphere. Empress Caiatl and Valid Forge watch from the H.E.L.M.
In the H.E.L.M., Ana watches the Traveler from a monitor.

Ana Bray: It's leaving. The Traveler's leaving!

The monitor view changes, showing the Warsats lock onto the Traveler.

Ana Bray: The Warsats!

Mithrax: Eramis… please do not do this. If you care at all for our people, if there is anything left in your heart—

Eramis prepares to fire the Warsats, as the Witness watches from a cracked monitor.
Ana Bray activates AURORA SACRIFICE, and prepares to unplug Rasputin

The Witness: Make it know your pain.

Rapsutin: Ana… it's time.

Eramis: For Riis.

Ana Bray: Goodbye, Red.

Eramis fires the Warsats.
The sky if filled with a blinding light. Ana unplugs Rasputin.
Elsie arrives and comforts Ana.

Exo Stranger: Ana… look!

The light fades, the Traveler appears unharmed amid the destroyed Warsats.

Eramis: Why? Why does it not flee?

The Black Fleet is seen passing by Jupiter.

The Witness: Because… it has nowhere else to run.

Trivia[edit]

  • The bombardment that harries the player outside the station is listed as Spitfire, the same name as the Brig's missile attack.
  • Thralls and Shriekers of the Lucent Brood appear among other Hive combatants. It is likely a developer oversight.
