The Reef |
65 Cybele is an asteroid in the asteroid belt.
History[edit]
Following the Collapse, the Awoken colonized the asteroid and developed it into a key military fortress.
Towards the end of the Reef Wars, Skolas planned an attack on Cybele to change the tide of the war as much of his command were slain or captured.[1] One of the Wolfships, commanded by Ziriks, was en-route to join Skolas in the attack but were delayed to recover from an Awoken ambush.[2] Thanks to Variks' betrayal,[3] however, the Reef knew of this, and so when he arrived all four Armada Paladins were waiting with a large fleet. Defeated in a decisive battle later known as the Cybele Uprising, surrounded on all sides, Skolas was captured and locked away in the Prison of Elders.[4][5] Most of the Silent Fang were killed, and the rest captured, in this conflict, with Petra Venj crediting Awoken victory to the Silent Fang's elimination.[6]
