Ash & Iron was a free content update for Destiny 2 released on September 9th, 2025. It continues the storyline in The Edge of Fate and Reclamation, with Maya Sundaresh searching for Golden Age technology in the Plaguelands. It concluded with the release of Renegades on December 2nd, 2025.

Description

Following her failure within The Desert Perpetual, Maya Sundaresh turns her attention to expanding her Echo of Command's influence and sees Golden Age tech as her means to do such. To do this, she would control an alternate timeline's Red Legion and pull them into the current timeline to scour the Plaguelands for Golden Age tech.

Following her attack on the Last City to seize tech, the Coalition would descend on the Plaguelands as well to stop Maya's Cabal and Nessian Schism, along with reclaiming the tech for themselves.
