Pretender to the Throne is the twenty eighth story mission of the Wrath of the Hive campaign. Guardians are sent to confront the Taken Prince Malok, Pride of Oryx, who is attempting to seize the Osmium Throne.

Objectives[edit]

Modifiers[edit]

  • Legend Modifiers
    • Extra Shields- More enemies have shields.
    • Combatant Tier 2- Even more advanced and challenging combatants will appear.
      • Twice as many enemies, and a small number of majors
    • Galvanized I- Combatants are harder to stun.
      • Enemies have maximized health and advantage against being stunned. They also gain Health Boost I. (Health Boost I grants 50 extra hit points)
  • Shielded Foes: Arc, Solar, Void- You will face Combatants with Arc, Solar, and Void Shields.
  • Scourge 2- Combatants with Banes are encountered more frequently.
    • Atleast 10 Bane comabtants on the field
  • Curated Banes- Slow, Grasp, Gravity
    • Slow- Combatants with the Slow bane will freeze nearby Guardians using a Stasis aura. Don't let them close the distance.
    • Grasp- Spawns a destructible Strand Turret which fires seekers that Unravel you.
    • Gravity- Throws a void grenade that generates a damaging field that pulls you toward the center. This field lasts for a short time. When its about to end it launches those in it up while hitting them with damage again.
  • Battlefield Promotion- You may encounter combatants who were recently promoted. When a combatant defeats a player or another combatant, they get promoted.
    • Spawns Promoted Banes, Battlefield Promotion. The Bane was recently promoted as a result they are 1 size larger, have a 50% DR, and a 25% Health Boost (or Health Boost 1).
  • Healing Finisher- Performing a finisher on a combatant heals you.
    • If you finish a foe, you heal to full.
  • Flare- When close to a fireteam member, gain increased Recovery and Super regeneration.
    • Healing is doubled around allies, supers gain a +2 per ally.
  • Epitaph- Taken combatants generate blight geysers when defeated.
    • Taken Creatures roll 1d6 upon their HP being reduced to 0. On a 5 or 6 a Planar Rupture is placed at their feet that expels energy immediately then vanishes.
