Astraea, also known as Vesper Central, is a central AI that oversees the Clovis Bray installation, Vesper Station.

Biography[edit]

Astraea is the AI that was aboard Vesper Station to oversee dangerous experiments conducted by Clovis Bray on Europa. She became alone after some time until former House of Salvation members attempted to build a settlement in Vesper Station.[1] She was awakened when the Fallen began to construct the Anomaly under the supervision of the White Captain and would send out a distress signal. The signal was answered by the Guardian on the behalf of Spider, who sent a crew to investigate the distress and never returned since.[2] The Guardian worked with Astraea to uncover the secrets of Vesper Station which included references to the AION Initiative,[3] the attempts by Clovis Bray I to create an interface with the Vex Mind,[4] and the existence of other AIs, such as Rasputin and Soteria,[3] whilst also attempting to stop the Corrupted Puppeteer from overloading the Anomaly with corrupted Arc energy.[5] The Anomaly was powered down temporarily, so she had the Guardian free her by gaining the clearance necessary to do so. After she was freed, she was able to shut down the Anomaly permanently, but before she did, she uncovered a message from Lodi that came through the Anomaly.[6] Afterwards, she requested that the Guardian give her some time alone.[7]
