Data Wardens are a type of enemy that appears in Reclaim.[1]

Gameplay[edit]

The Data Warden War Beast appears inside a Portable Cabal Shield alongside some reinforcements, protected by an Immunity Shield. Destroying the portable shield generator also removes the Warden's shield, who can then be slain. The process must be repeated two more times, with the wardens becoming respectively an Elite and Major Gladiator, before the salvage cache can be recovered.

A pair of Minor Data Warden Minotaurs or Centurions will appear in an area near a cache of data after a small wave of enemies is wiped. When they are slain, two Oracles will appear in the air. Destroying the Oracles prompts another wave of reinforcements with either two more Minor Minotaurs or two Elite Centurions, and once they are slain, three oracles appear. For the final wave, the two Data Wardens become Majors, and reveal four Oracles. Destroying these final Oracles opens the cache of salvage.

A pair of Elite Data Warden Phalanxes or Minotaurs will be in an area near a cache of data. When slain, a small wave of reinforcements will appear, alongside a shielded Conflux. When it is broken, a pair of Major Wardens appears with reinforcements. When these are slain, two shielded Confluxes will appear, and when broken, four Major Wardens will arrive. Once the player kills this last wave and destroys the three confluxes that follow, a cache of salvage will open.

A Major Data Warden Gladiator appears protected by an immunity shield. The players must find a Conductor's Psion Commander and kill it, which will drop the Warden's shield and allow it to be killed. Afterwards, two Wardens and two Commanders will appear, and when slain, three of each will appear. Once all of these are killed, a nearby cache will be collectable.

Data Warden Incendiors have two events. In the first, the Warden has an immunity shield, and there will be a Data Encryptor Psion nearby, which when killed drops a packet of data to be inserted in nearby columns. Once three columns have been filled, a nearby Conflux will become vulnerable, and destroying it will remove the shield from the Data Warden. In the second event, the Data Warden will be out in the field, and once it takes a small amount of damage, it will get a shield and start retreating until it reaches the generator of a Portable Cabal Shield. When the generator is destroyed, the Warden's shield will drop and it will become vulnerable once again. The Warden will continue retreating from generator to generator until it reaches a cache of data, whereupon it will make its final stand. In both cases, when the Data Warden is slain, the nearby cache will open up for collection.

If the Data Warden is a Colossus or a Major Minotaur, it protects a nearby cache encased in an immunity shield. Enemies will spawn around it, and one will drop an unstable charge that can be thrown at the shield to weaken it. Once three charges have been thrown, the Warden will become vulnerable. If left to its devices, the Warden will become immune again and must be made vulnerable with another thrown charge.

The Wyvern Warden is locked inside a Vex barrier, connected to three cubic confluxes. Hordes of Vex will arrive, and as they are slain, the confluxes will become vulnerable one by one. Once all the confluxes are destroyed, the Warden will be freed, and destroying it will open up a nearby salvage cache.

The Giant Data Warden Centurion and Minotaur protect a nearby cache. They have no immunity phases, but will call more and more reinforcements as their health gets lower, including a pair of Threshers. When the Wardens and their Threshers are slain, the nearby cache opens up.

Trivia[edit]

  • When they have their Immunity Shield removed, the regular sized Minotaurs uniquely do not posses an Absorption Shield.
    • In addition, the Ultra regular Minotaur is susceptible to Finishers despite its rank. It will even take Finishers while invulnerable, though the move will not inflict any damage.
