Shaw Han is a Hunter operative working for the Vanguard. He is highly skilled and leads fireteams into dangerous missions throughout the Solar System. Four years following the SIVA Crisis, he, Maeve, and Caster-3 were deployed in the Cosmodrome. Due to a rushed preliminary scan, the fireteam was assaulted by Hive led by Navôta, Eir Spawn, and both Cas and Maeve lost their lives to the Hive Wizard. Shaw Han was the only survivor. Ever since, he has remained as the Vanguard's representative in Old Russia.

Preventing the Final Shape

Shaw Han joined the Coalition forces for the final stand against the Witness. The army attacked the Witness, severing its hold over the Traveler's Light and in a direct attack, struck at the Witness directly, unmaking it with a tremendous surge of Light. At last, the War against the Witness was over, with the Coalition and the people of the Last City rejoicing.

• Shaw Han's outfit contains armor pieces that can be acquired by the player. These are the Insight Rover Mask, the Young Ahamkara's Spine, the Exodus Down Vest, and the Strides of the Great Hunt.
  • His cloak is an undamaged version of the Wildwood Cloak.
• His name is a combination of the names "Deckard Shaw" and "Han Lue" from the Fast and Furious franchise.
• He was initially speculated by fans to be the resurrected Uldren Sov prior to the introduction of Crow.
• During The Dawning 2020, it is revealed that Shaw loves blueberries, a reference to his in-game role of guiding new players in the New Light introduction campaign.
• It is unknown how Shaw Han managed to obtain Strides of the Great Hunt, which is gear from the Last Wish Raid
