The Mechaneer's Tricksleeves are a set of exotic Hunter gauntlets that appear in base version Destiny 2[1]. Originally constructed by self-styled "Lady" Olu Alderdice, the tricksleeves are made with sidearms in mind, improving reload and ready speed for sidearms.

Perks[edit]

Intrinsic perks[edit]

  • Spring-Loaded Mounting: Increases Sidearm ready and reload speed. While you're critically wounded, swapping to a Sidearm increases its damage. Provides a large benefit to Sidearm airborne effectiveness.

With Update 7.3.0 released with Season of the Wish on November 28th, the exotic perk of this armor was added a new function:

The Sidearm damage bonus now persists for 5 seconds after your shields begin to recharge. Sidearm kills extend the damage bonus' duration by 3 seconds and completely reload your Sidearm from reserves. The damage bonus has been reduced in PvP to compensate for it lasting longer. It is now +10% Sidearm damage (down from +35%).

Lore[edit]

Attention, esteemed patrons of the Seven Stars! We are a semi-respectable business here. Until now, we've only had three or four rules, barring any newly invented misdeeds of which we are yet to be made aware. Unfortunately, we are forced to increase our rules by two.

Four (or five): Olu Alderdice is heretofore banned from our establishment.
Five (or six, who's counting): Alderdice's inventions are also forbidden. Anyone found to be in posession of devices such as, but not limited to, spring-razor petticoats, electrified fascinators, sidearm tricksleeves, or arsenic lipstick will be introduced to our bouncer. Who is a Titan. Named Karl.

Thank you for understanding, and please enjoy your stay. Unless you're Olu Alderdice. Go away, Olu.

Trivia[edit]

  • The slide-rails on either wrist of the tricksleeves imply that "Lady" Alderdice may have intended for there to be a concealed firearm or blade equipped.
