"Before Punaris leaves us forever, please allow us to bid farewell to this friend who sacrificed his life for Project Clotho with a moment of silence, rather than tears."

"The courage, perseverance, and persistence he demonstrated during the mission were—ugh, this eulogy doesn't fit him at all… Who wrote this?" The man raises the card he's holding and looks down at the audience with an arched eyebrow.

Nearly all of Project Clotho's participants were in attendance, filling the small hall to the brim.

With lowered heads and downcast eyes, they let the man's question linger in the air. The response only makes him raise his eyebrow higher. "I'm just as heartbroken as you about his passing, but—but you all know there's a reason he's lying in this coffin!" His voice is now raised, and he's practically speaking through gritted teeth, but he continues. "Just because someone was curious about how a gun could cause someone 'discomfort far exceeds any momentary pain'—"

"He…he tried that gun without authorization—" The card bearing the eulogy crinkles in his fist.

"—and he left us suffering unimaginable pain, in the most absurd way possible!"

The heads in the crowd fall even lower, as if the mere action could conceal their grief. And yet they cannot help wanting to laugh.

"That's why I've said it time and time again. These guns are for Lightbearers only!" The corners of the man's mouth twitch as he crumples the eulogy card into a ball and concludes the mourning service with a statement forced out through a half laugh-half cry. "Listen up, all of you—ESPECIALLY the Weapon Security Office! Yes, you! Without prior approval, none of you are to test the targets of Project Clotho in any form or under any pretext. Unless you want to die in a coffin made of curiosity like Punaris—ahem… Traveler bless his soul!"
