"A scout rifle, modified by Dead Orbit's superb technicians and specialists."
— Weapon Description

The Hung Jury SR4 is a Legendary KineticS.png Scout Rifle introduced in The Taken King, which was available for purchase and as a random drop from the Dead Orbit faction vendor, Arach Jalaal. It was also reissued in Destiny 2 with the release of Season of the Splicer as an exclusive reward available from completions of Nightfall, with an exclusive Adept version available on Grandmaster difficulty that is able to equip Adept mods, receives extra stats from masterworking and has a slightly different appearance.

During the Into the Light update, a BRAVE Arsenal version of the weapon was introduced with a new appearance, different perks, and a new origin trait. It is available as loot from the Onslaught activity and can be attuned at the Hall of Champions to drastically increase its drop rate. A more unique version of this weapon is also available on rare drops with double perks and its own unique Weapon Ornament.

Gameplay

It is a medium rate-of-fire and high impact Scout Rifle that has set the benchmark for Scout Rifle with many players calling it the best Scout Rifle, if not the best primary weapon in Destiny. The special combination of the perks Firefly, Triple Tap and Hand-laid stock as well as the solid Torch sight sold by the Dead Orbit vendor combined with the great archetype for all-around usage made it an extremely consistent and deadly weapon, especially in PvE due to its laser-esque accuracy and the Firefly perk that could activate. Unfortunately, the Dead Orbit has stopped selling this weapon as a vendor purchase or random drop as of the release of Rise of Iron, so the only way to get one as of the Age of Triumph drop is to either receive one from a Scout Rifle bounty from the Crucible Quartermaster, or wait for a good roll on a Scout Rifle of the same archetype, such as the Tuonela SR4. With both the solid archetype and the all-around perk combinations, this gun is widely considered to be among the best weapons in Destiny's history and can be used in virtually any scenario.

"And my vanquisher will read that book, seeking the weapon, and they will come to understand me, where I have been and where I was going."

They called her the Roamer because she'd never lived in the City.

In the bad old days, before Takanome's Rangers, Tamsin didn't hide behind any wall. She stood two meters high, tall enough to ride her stolen Pike. She was no Guardian, not even Awoken. She was plain Human, like you and me, they say.

Tamsin could go toe-to-toe with a Vandal.

Tamsin wore larger boots than Shaxx, and her coat was so big that a family of six could use it as a blanket.

Tamsin wouldn't stay put. She'd visit for a night, spin her stories, eat everyone out of house and home, and take off again.

When you hear a tapping outside on windy nights—so they tell the kids down in Peregrine—that's no tree branch. That's no owl. That's Tamsin looking for a traveling companion. And if you open the door to her, she'll take you to the stars.
