Rune-Cursed Lightbearers are a group of Hive Lightbearers that can be encountered in the Landing during the Overthrow event, with multiple possible encounters.

Gameplay

In one of the encounters, the player must first find several Rune Keeper Wizards and Knights, identify the correct rune, and slay them. After three sets of runes have been deciphered, the Lightbeared will arrive. Though it is accompanied by many reinforcements, it has no special mechanics and can be slain as the player sees fit.

Another encounter occurs when finding the Lightbearer inside a dome barrier with a crystal hovering above. The player must slay groups of hive that appear in the vicinity, entering the wells left behind by Knights to raise their "Shieldbreaker Ritual" buff. Once the effect reaches three steps, the player will be able to destroy the barrier's crystal, freeing the Rune-Cursed Lightbearer. Crushing the Hive's Ghost and killing the majority of their reinforcements will complete the encounter.
