Dreadfang is a Legendary Taken-themed Sword given to The Guardian by Variks, The Loyal after they slew Malok, Pride of Oryx. It is obtained from the quest At The Gates.

Perks[edit]

Sword Strike: Use to attack with the sword.
Tempered Light: Increased Armor when wielding the sword.
Void-Forged Guard: Use to guard. Effective against Arc and Solar attacks, less effective against Void attacks.
Scabbard: Increases Sword Ammo Capacity.
Will of Light: This weapon deals bonus damage against Taken enemies.

Judging by its description, it is either Savathûn, the Witch-Queen or Xivu Arath, God of War speaking of Oryx's death.
- Due to its proper grammar and lack of capitalization, it most likely is Savathûn. Along with the later seasons, Season of the Witch and Season of the Deep, showing that Xivu Arath took Oryx's death poorly and would not have thanked him for his failure. Though this simply could have been before her characterization was finished, but nothing is confirmed.
