Adherents of Ecthar are a variant of Lightbearer Knights of the Lucent Brood that were tasked with helping Šimmumah ur-Nokru, Lucent Necromancer in their ritual to resurrect the Taken King as a Hive Lightbearer.

Gameplay

Adherents of Ecthar appear in the final encounter of the Ghosts of the Deep Dungeon. One appears in the area to the left of Oryx's corpse, separated by a submerged section, alongside numerous Acolytes. As long as the Adherent is alive, a rune will float in the air. A player should memorize this, as crushing the Knight's Ghost will make the rune disappear. The player will be granted the "Vestige of a Knight" buff, which must be brought to the part of Oryx with the correct rune to weaken the ritual.
