687 Tinette was an asteroid in the asteroid belt.

History

During the Reef Wars, it was captured by the beam of the Awoken gravity weapon Carybdis and thrown into 19 Fortuna, where Beltrik, the Veiled of the Fallen House of Wolves had stationed his fleet. Both asteroids shattered upon impact, devastating Beltrik's fleet and securing another victory for the Awoken. The remains of Tinette and Fortuna are occasionally called the Fortuna Plummet, after the battle that took place.[1]

Trivia

Photometric observations at the Palmer Divide Observatory in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1999 were used to build a light curve for this object. The asteroid displayed a rotation period of 7.40 ± 0.02 hours and a brightness variation of 0.25 ± 0.01 in magnitude.
