Imperial Legionaries are a more powerful variant of the Legionary. In Destiny they are the common Major variant of its original counterpart and appear in numerous Cabal related activities. Visually, they are indistinguishable from their Minor counterparts, save for their yellow health bar.

Imperial Legionaries would appear again in Destiny 2, this time as Elite variants of Loyalist Legionaries, serving as strong combatants as part of the Leviathan Raid. They can be distinguished by their armor which looks similar to that of Blood Guard Legionaries, albeit in a Loyalist color scheme. In Season of the Haunted, variants of the Imperial Legionary appeared while Patrolling the Derelict Leviathan, and in support of other Loyalists in Sever missions.
